Laser KH Dash Squeal - Speedo Cable?

yo,
my missus 94' KH 1.6 litre SOHC laser has cranked up 320,000kms. And now there's an intermittant squeal or screaching sound emittining from behind the Dash Cluster. You can even tap the top of the Dash and it'll stop the noise.

It could really only be the Speedo Cable playing up??

Just if you guys have experienced that sort of problem with hi-ish kay Lasers?

I had this on my laser with 200,xxx on it. just replace the cable and the noise will stop. btw it is a pain of a job.

There not cheap but forked it out ($145.oo). Your right is was a bit of a bugger but its all sweet now. Keeps the missus of me back for a little longer.
