After all it is not the Speed that kills, it's the sudden stop that does it.

I'm ok with speed cameras etc that any alert driver can see and take note of their speed at but its the hidden behind trees and in bushes etc that are purely revenue raises - they dont make you aware of your speed until weeks later when the fine arrives.

stripes are now common saw a shockwave one in N/Sydney last week..

only way to pick them is illegal (how ironic) dark dark tinting...

see the tint, steer clear...

it's worse in the city when the speed limit keeps changing every 1km.

well, i might go check out the goverment auctions next year then, try pick myself up a nice little x cop xr6 or xr8.

On the comment on speed cameras as revenue raisers.
Yes they are, but look at it this way lets say we get rid of cameras and speeding tickets. Then thats a big junk of money removed from the police force budget, how will the goverment pump more cash into the police you ask?? Take it out of the tax payers dollar which in turn will lead us to pay a higher tax. So either the people that do the wrong things on the road - speeders etc - help pay for the police or everyone pays. I'd much rather it was the people that speed contriute more than i do as well ye.

Just my 2 dollars.

tis weird eh, you pass one coming the other way or sit behind one and i'll say to my missus "thats a copper" before she recognises it. i don't know if its growing up around cops all my life ( my old man was a military cop) or from being booked :Reverend: but its a weird feeling that you know its 99% chance its an unmarked. ooooweeeoooo :

The issue I have with speed cameras is they punish you after the fact. Say a person is speeding and get stopped by a cop and get a fine and a stern talking to, the "danger" of the person speeding has been halted, sussed out as to whether they are drunk/on drugs/angry/crazy and the person might be scared into slowing down.
If a camera takes a picture the person keeps on speeding along and may have an accident and just gets the shits with the system when they get a fine they may or may not pay. It's not as effective is it?

The process of increasing the ratio of NSW unmarked HWP vehicles will continue and has been highlighted in this forum, to target the appalling state of 'driver behaviour' - beyond mere speed. More colours and 'markings' than that btw.

Remaining, but will take time and I mean three or so years: To free-up serving highway patrol from general duties policing. It is clear, once again, we must DIVORCE the NSW Traffic Branch from LAC structure *completely*.

Serving highway patrol members were never intended to be general duties police, but could always be called on to back-up the general serving NSW Police Force members when urgently required.

I'd expect this to eventuate if the NSW government changes power, 'regardless'.

Well there are those that get caught and there are those that don't. Just because you don't get caught don't make it right and when you think about it most people at some time or other have spead, run a light or failed to give way but have just got away with it. I do agree with you though. but I just think about the ones with the cars that are not road worthy and the ones that get away with it. They contribute to the bad results on the road too

Aswell as a winter white BF XR8 with the full stripe kit dark windows and theres a couple of XR6's seen one turbo others just stockers.
Theres a red commo and a silver one aswell. We cant win in Western Sydney.

Im actuaaly quite ****ed about this but theyre running around WITH P PLATES on under cover cars : . Iv seen the red commodore with them but didnt believe it until my mate got pulled up by them and it was in the local paper yesterday.

Is that legal ???

They play games with people they want to pull over. Overtaking then slowing right up and trying to race off the lights etc etc

They are really stooping low now :
