ive got the modding bug now and i want some more power out of the 4.0

however i dont reckon my current insurance is going to allow it...

Good luck getting it for a reasonable yearly premium that doesn't equate to more than half the value of your car mate...

If I weren't under 25 I'd be driving a bloody v8 or something by now. But noooooooooo.

Fcking insurance.

Just Cars are good, unlimited mods, but you pay for it, IE $2200 a year..

or if you stay n/a dont tell them, usually they dont get too fussy over an exhaust..

Your in adelaide mate so you should be fine.
Back when I was 22 I called just cars and they were ok with a turbocharged EB falcon for around $1200 a year.
Just call around. I personally found SGIC were very friendly and cheap with regards to mods as well ($700 per year)
Most of the cost depends on your area. Eastern state boys tend to pay way more then us it seems.

This probably has something to do with the fact that 99% of them are moron drivers that tailgate then overtake on blind corners when your doing the speed limit (yes I recently went on a trip to vic.. yes I was shocked at the consistant stupidity of the drivers over there.. I know SA drivers are pricks that don't let you in and tend to hang in the right lane but never in all my driving did I view as much stupidity as my 2 weeks driving along the vic coastline. The only reprieve was when a NSW driver would come along. At least they don't seem as intent on killing themselves)

I am insured with RACQ I have a EL XR6 im 21 and have after maket body kit, extractors, exhaust, stereo wheels all comp insured agreed $16000 value and i pay just under $1000 i have been with them for 12 months now.
I will add *quietly that my licence had been suspended for speeding but no other pervious claims

if i crash it im up for $2500 from all the tack on charges like high performance and age and so forth.

When i was looking for insurance the cheapest quote for a standard XR was $2500 - $3000 or they said no because of my age.

Yeah you ring Shannons and the person on the phone will tell you they dont insure under 25s, go into their shopfront and they are more flexible.

Im with the Vic equivalant of your insurance company (RACV) and when i made a claim it was delayed for 2 days until they obtained my driving history from Vicroads, so if you were to make a claim theres a very good chance it could be voided for not telling them about your speeding/licence suspension.

I'm not sure if I am. Due to my job, I know a few things about the insurance industry and let's just say the NRMA would be my very *last* choice of motor vehicle insurer. They are extremely disorganised and their entire conduct stinks. If anyone has NRMA insurance, be careful and don't crash .

A lot of places wouldn't even insure me because I was under 25 and driving a 'powerful' vehicle

Not only am I paying $1100 a year premiums but my excess is also bloody $950! Mind you I was on my P's when I first started the contract so maybe I should call them now that I am on my opens and see if that changes anything.

I'm with just cars. $380 for 3rd party, fire, theft, and 5g uninsured motorist extension, but $750 excess. 20yo on opens, never lost a point, or put a scratch on a car whilst driving, except when I got rammed when stationairy by a stolen jeep. Started off on 530 odd two years ago, but went down majorly last renewel (must have gone down a rating or 3).
