Nissan Patrol 506. That would have to be there best numbers for a while presumably because there are no Cruisers atm.
Ranger 4x4 still king but Mustang only 45.

Because they're embarrassing

I don't know why these figures cannot be obtained from the respective State DOT's as they could provide all actual registrations per month.

Yes but the question for mine is, why are they able to source enough semi conductors to keep Ranger/Everest flowing?
The answer is obvious, they screw the most profit from customers on the cheap to produce Thai built product.

The wait for those loyal Escape/Focus etc. etc. Customers is because they didn't spend enough but they'll tell you its because of pandemic related shut-downs in specific regions.

Semi conductor shortages is hitting Ford pretty hard in their Euro sourced vehicles.Everyone is being affected. Some dealers are refusing to take orders.

Errr. maybe the Thais factory's haven't had as many days shut down as well so you keep the parts that are available going to the plants that are open...and we are one of those that couldn't afford to spend more on a Ranger so we ordered an Escape....
Using your argument then why doesn't Ford ship every available component to the US so they can build every possible F Series which is where they make the most profit globally...

The trouble is,they are building these trucks, but cannot ship them to dealers/owners.Sitting in paddocks awaiting semi conductors.Literally hundreds of them.

I think some people need to understand that VFACTS figures relate to vehicles delivered/registered.

The real story would be in dealerships order write but obviously those numbers won't be seen.

But you can’t, it’s Ford’ s most popular vehicle and the best in its class (even though it’s at the end of its life cycle).

It’s a mute point.

Yes,totally agree, just making an observation. It is very lucky they have it in their lineup. You can bet when it was being developed, they did not see Ford leaving. They ‘dodged’ a bullet there.

No it’s not “very lucky”, it has taken a lot of hard work to design and develop a global Product in Australia that is best in class.

You missing what I am saying. It is very lucky that it is in the current lineup. If they had elected not to develop it,it would have been curtains for them.It was/has been very fortunate. As I alluded to,they dodged a bullet. They have some really good vehicles in their line up,that nobody really seems to want.

“IF” Toyota wasn’t selling cars in Australia they wouldn’t be sales leader either.

“IF” really is a nothing word.

The thing with Toyota,is nearly every vehicle in their line up,can stand up by it self. They do not(or never have) solely relied on one vehicle as Ford does.Again(respectfully) you miss my point.Toyota is in many, ways a lot smarter than Ford has ever been.

Again, they are very fortunate to have Ranger, why do you think they are affectionately known as the Ranger company? Their sales are nothing short of dismal for the rest of the range. It’s just plain facts.Anyhow,we are not going to come together on this debate.Let’s just call it a day.Cheers.

Ford is deliberately prioritising its high profit vehicles, Europe has barely
if anywhere near enough chips for its own production let alone exports.

Just saw Ford US sales figures for August, 125k with F Series making up 57k of that.
Average transaction price for Ford trucks and SUVs is current US$50,800,
Lincoln average transaction price is currently US$58,900.

There’s no doubt that the same strategy is being applied to Ford Australia sales,
in an absolute clusterfk, the best you can do is maximise profit on limited resources.

It makes complete sense from a business perspective, but if i was a loyal customer and had handed over my hard earned id be questioning that loyalty when priority is given to higher margin product whilst my build again gets delayed.
They all do it though.

Of course and not denying what you said, Ford has very few choices here
and if certain vehicles are unobtainable until we’ll into next year, that fact
will certainly colour a lot of buyers decisions going forward.

Those are being cleared as we speak, plant crews are going to the nearby
holding yards and completing the chip install in infotainment units.
Last count, there were 45,000 F Series to be completed and something like 11,000
we’re done last month with all expected to be completed by November.

Ford sold 57k F Series in August, that was with a couple of the plants barely running
so yeah, they’re hurting and that’s good because it’s the only corporates learn…

Are they paying the workers whose shifts have been cancelled saw some plants down from 2 nd 3 shifts a day to 1.
Not good for their reputation to burn ward off potential Escape Puma Focus buyers.
Not good to just rely on Thai built Everest /Ranger for market share ..eventually in fact soon China will come hunting those two segments.
Can Ford survive?
They must be burning cash.

At the end of the day. Current vfacts figures are skewed.. it will settle when the whole semi conductor shortage ends and all manufactures are playing on a level field.. then lets see which brands are in the top 10 and which cars are the real market leaders
