Default Generic dis-coil wiring

Hi all, I can't get spark in my 351c, I have a new gt40 wired as 12v to pos on coil that joins to orange wire on distributor, neg on coil going to black wire from distributor. As far as I can tell the distributor must be buggered because I've also tried another coil. Help please!!! Never had to call a mobile mechanic before but I think I might have to. What am I missing? 11

Hi. The GT40 coil is not the right one to use with bosch type electronic distributors (it is designed for points type ignitions), should use a HEC or MEC 716 or similar (black transformer type coil). Other thing to check is if the coil has power when cranking. Cheers MD

Test you are getting 12v from the wire when ignition is on, try a temporary wire between battery and + coil.(don't leave it connected for long periods)
