Default 2007 LS focus heater fan removal

I'm looking for some info on removing to repair / replace a noisy heater blower fan in a 2007 LS Focus where the fan is located in the centre of the dash up high above the radio position and the only info I can seem to find is for the easy to do ones behind the glove box.

Any suggestions?
And yes I'll take 1st timer suggestions too.

The manual says "This is a difficult procedure requiring patience and dexterity to release the heater blower motor"

Is that all it says?
I have a fair bit of patience and my lovely wife has very skinny arms but getting to it and getting it out is way harder than it should be.
Maybe our daughter will have to pay up the $120 an hr at the dealership - NOT
I can only find posts where the motor out is simple.
