Hi, does any one have any recomendations for finance companies who will lend at competitive rates on cars over 10 years old and 200,000km?
Appreciate none of them will be as low as new car rates. Feel free to move if this is not the best section to post this. Regards, David

If you do manage to find one they will probably be over a short period, and not a lot different from just getting a loan.
How much are the cars worth?

I am thinking you're better off with a personal loan for a couple grand. You can get decent interest rates. Certainly better than a car yard is going to set up for you.

I have upgraded my 2 cars now looking to sell the old ones, and finance seems to be the issue buyers keep running into. Most can get approval but the rates are A lot higher than they are expecting to pay using the car as security which means unless the buyer wants to pay cash it's hard to get the finance to get a sale over the line.

That's their problem David, not yours. Make your cars as presentable as possible, you'll have a buyer with no financial problems.

If there was a company worth pointing people towards for this sort of loan it might have helped me out moving the cars, but also helped out a couple of people getting into what I consider great Australian built performance cars. With plenty of life left in them.

Personal loan...say it's for "home renovations" if you suspect you might have a reluctant bank.

Put it on a credit card then move it to new card with 0% on the transfer balance special.
Pay off what you can in the 0% period then transfer to another card with the same offer. Keep repeating until the loan is paid off.
