Default Sold the ute but still got the dog so....

Theres a problem, sold the best mates mobile kennel in order to buy a GTP,thing is hes still going to want to travel..option A take the wee Mitsi runabout everywhere or B ask if any fellow sedan and dog owners have any good ideas re covering up the rear seats, even in the Mitsi the hair seems to get through seat covers (doesnt matter its just a runabout),hes a Border collie so a hairy bugger indeed.Any ideas?Dont want to sound to **** about it and happy enough to get the lux out from time to time, just thought someone has a good system to minimise it.Yea the obvious answer is leave him at home but na cant do it to him.Pic of GTP cause i can...felt like a kid at christmas since signing the paper work for it.

I have seen a specific product that clips to the top of the rear windows, the poles under the front head rests and then up somewhere behind the parcel shelf.

Creates a material lining on all 5 sides so nothing gets onto the seats.

Probably get it from Super Cheap or similar places.

A friend off mine puts the rear seats down for his huntaway with an old duvet on top, seems to keep it off the seats.

Nice GT-P btw ive seen the advertisement for it on trade me, will you make a thread for it?

You can buy plastic backed rear seat covers specifically designed for carrying dogs.

I have a couple for my cars.

Dogculture.com.au is a good start
http://www.dogculture.com.au/16-car-...FVMAvAodDdwKWQ

Google will bring up many different styles for sale.

I seen a bloody VW Golf with a St Bernard and two other dogs in the back of it today while I was at Gisborne Maccas.

A couple with their fur babies out and about for some lunch.

Yep, we had something almost identical to the first option. And, we had it for one of those "hair drops everywhere" Border Collies.

That style of cover is excellent and I'd recommend it everytime.

Sadly, our Border Collie, at the age of 11.5 years, lost her battle with a tumour about 2years ago. Beautiful dogs. Your hairy bloke looks to be a beauty too!!! Good luck mate.

Same here....we use these in the G6 for our ridgebacks. Work great, keep it clean,no damage and appears quite safe aswell.

I have a golden retriever so I bought a rear seat cover from super cheap, It's fine, not too hard to take on and off and stops the hair. Only problem is he likes the windows down, so when the wind blows it it blows his hair absolutely everywhere else in the car.

Recently moved into a rental while we are getting a house built, and even though my dog has never been to this rental house, I randomly find his hair around the place. Goldens are awesome, but the hair drives me crazy. No matter how much you groom or comb him with the dematting comb, the hair just keeps coming off.

He looks like a great dog. I had a heeler once and it was similarly chewy. If he's anything like my dog he'll be wanting to run back and forward across the back seat the whole time and slobber all over the windows, headrests, roof lining, anything else he can think of. And if he hasn't just been detailed himself there's no way his doggie smell won't find its way into the upholstery :-( What about a dog trailer, or maybe some roof racks and a capsule like they use on planes? Or some sedative and just pop him in the boot?
