Default GT F - scalpers ahoy

Bunch of GT F's are up on carsales $108,000 to $140,000

Hope these people have a lot of patience as there are other toys available in that price range. Will only take a few desperate sellers to set a fall in prices.

Yeah I was browsing ebay the other day and saw about 7-8 on there. Was quite disappointing really that most of them would of been people just trying to make a quick buck

I agree, its quite disappointing, as people have missed out on ordering them exactly as they would have liked, so someone can make some cash.

How many of them acually sell?
Looks as though the rare ones will be the ones with less than two owners from factory the way things are going.

With a down turn in the economy, i mean things are'nt that crash hot out there
not to many people lining up to buy one! Another factor is that the FG-X & Mustang
are just around the corner! So a lot of guys may have the wait & see approach before
their next big purchase!

I reckon they will stall soon and come back to earth once the hype subsides, the last cars are delivered and the press stops writing about them.

Paying much more than RRP would be a mistake if you don't love it and want to hold it IMO

buddy I pick mine up tomorrow and have been offered more than I paid for it and its not for sale. one would have to seriously think about though if I wanted to sell for a quick profit

Undoubtedly, a few will sell for over and above the odds, but I am genuinely surprised by the number that appear to have been acquired with the intention of being flipped for a tidy profit

Cheers Mick

A true investor/collector who didn’t get a look in at the start would take a wait and see approach before laying down any cash.

Why throw your money away when in 12 months’ time the asking price could be back at RRP with many examples still having very few k’s.

Buy on the way down, not on the way up.

I've got one about 4 metres away from my desk. From here it looks like a standard GT with an F 351 next to the badge.

Maybe in shares or property but the last ever GT Falcons should have gone the 500 most passionate fans (with the cash). Not the scalpers.

IMO.

this sort of thing puts these great cars well and truly out of reach of us punters

Probably a bit harsh considering he was just stating an opinion, as he pointed out some of the speculators might be lumped with a car they cant move and end up selling at a loss.

It's their choice to take that risk if they can get in and buy one. I don't personally agree with anyone doing it, but it is a (mostly) free world and we should be thankful it is. Things would be much worse if we had people controlling every little aspect of what we can do.

Or could be just a short burst of ego of actually having one, or to say years later, i owned one rather then a scam imo

I dont care if any private seller tries to get what ever they can for a car. They sell it, then someone wanted it and could afford it.

Where I draw the line is a Ford dealer asking for more than RRP. Just seems dodgy .....

totally agree with the last poster . something is only worth what one is prepared to pay. sort of wondering if xw-baxr6t was referring to me as having an ego of owning one, if so I would like to say I don't need an ego , that is the reason why I work seven days a week so I can buy and do what I want

Want to know mark ups? Anyone see some of the prices for the Toyota 86 when it came out? The GTS was 36k odd rrp.....Test drove one before you would see any on the road, the dealer goes, we'll probably sell this demo one for around 60k as there is at least a 6 month waiting list on this model....
