Default Has 'Octane' made a comeback?

I was driving past Winford Motors in Mulgrave last week and noticed an FG II XR6 Turbo ute, which was painted in what I think was Octane, it certainly wasn't Sunburst orange thats for sure!

If it is in fact Octane, its nice to see Ford is sending off the Falcon in its hero colour.

Or is this a special one off or a dealer thing?

The Ford website shows Octane as a current available colour for XR's.

Hopefully the send off for the Falcon is still a few years away. Many colours don't last that long.

Edit: Too slow again, Struggo beat me to it. :(

Finally! Bringing back some of the older, bolder colours is a top idea. Noticed they were doing on the FPVs but didn't think they were doing on the XR range also

In the colour selector page on fpv.com.au when you're building a car, it states right down the bottom in grey that Octane will be available Q3 2013.

Lets hope we are emerging from the FAB,DRAB Gunmetal, Silver and Black era and see some colours that excites, and people actually want to buy. I always thought a G6/XR6 in XW diamond white, XB turquoise, XA yellow or vermilion fire would be very appealing.
Any other colour suggestions?

If FPV still did blood orange i would have bought one instead of going for white. Loved my blood orange XR6T.

This might be the only thing Ford have got right in 2013 regarding the Falcon range!

I'm surprised that they stopped using it actually but I may be biased!

So is Bionic coming back too? LOL

I dont like it in an FG2... Makes the car look like an FG1 with FG2 bits added.

Things must me tight if they cant mix up some new colours....

I find Octane a very "flat" colour that doesn't seem to pop at all. I think if Rapid or Breeze made a comeback they would be popular as well

I went for Octane too, thought it was one of the best hero colours and I still get comments on it to this day -

Granted it could be a little bland without the go faster stripes though.

All a personal choice but I thought Breeze was a weak choice for a hero colour on the XR's, rapid, citric acid, blood orange all great, mediocre were phantom and blueprint (I had a blueprint BA)

There is no way you would mistake that for any other car in a world of clones!

The stripes do help, Octane reminds me of Grandfathers old XB Falcon in orange.

Hear is a couple of shots I grabbed today,

I agree. Amazing how small they look for 18's. Not very sporty either.

I find rapid to be very flat personally. I think they should bring a yellow into the mix but not rapid/egg yolk yellow

Blueprint FTW

would have to be the most innovative colour they had ever come up with back in 2001

Never forget just about snapping my neck driving past Titan Ford back then and seeing the new T3 under the showroom lights out the front. Bought one the very next day.

Best colour ever. Then they went and slapped it all over every second BA and ruined it for me.
