Default Would you want to be reunited with one of your previous cars?

http://autos.yahoo.com/news/father-r...1661.html?vp=1

Even after 24 years, this father knew that this lime green 72 Mustang was his. He was speechless and ecstatic! Take a look!

So what car would you want to be reunited with? Do you know where it is now?

I had the opportunity to get an old car of mine back
I thought long and hard, there were some good times, but would any problems it had now destroy those great memories
I declined

I don't think any of my old cars would still be alive. Most of them were driven into the ground. I didn't actually sell any of my rides for the first 20 years of my driving career as they were all either parted out or went to a wreckers by the time I was finished with them.

My son has just started as an apprentice panel beater and is an emerging revhead. He was looking through my very old photo albums, saw a few pics I had of mates xu1 toranas and whatever that fancy Torana was (ls9)??? and a very clean xy v8. "Who's was that" he asks pointing to the xy. "Mine" says me with a little tear beginning. This was about 3 weeks ago and every day he goes off his nut at me for selling it. (Geez, it was what, nearly 30 years ago?) But even I wish I'd been able to keep it.

yep ive had mid teens to twenty cars over the years , still got two
and two were not fords
basically any of the fords ive had as I did like enjoyed them and would have them back if the situation fell right
and half of them I did kill in my junior years , how ever I wouldn't go looking for them

I miss my xe esp and ea fairmaont ghia.
The ea was bought from original owner with blown head gasket fixed that and the car never let me down great first car was stolen from out front of my house.
Then with the imsurance money I bought the esp and sold it before the prices started going stupid another doh for not keeping it would love to be reunited with these 2.

The ea was striped to a shell when the cops found it I still have my suspicions on who stole it so I can't really get re-united with this one but the esp would love to know where that is

I'd still have my AU back, only if it was in the condition it was traded in. When I traded it in 07, I got 13500 (from memory) for a 2000 AUII Forte with full TS50 kit, suspension work, exhaust etc etc, because it was still in showroom condition paintwise and interior.

But the last time I saw it, was the first time I was getting the BF serviced at 3000kms and my AU was out the back of Ford at Miami on the back of a tow truck with the passenger side caved in.
They had sold it to a 17 year old wanna be street racer a week earlier, who decided it would be fun to take it up the top of Tamborine mountain and go flying around in the wet. That car handled like it was on rails, but he lost it and slid it sideways into a tree. For some reason the service manager didn't want to let me walk outside to have a look.....

One of my mates saw it about 6 months ago, and the kid's old man had taken the car off him and had it repaired and straightened good as new. The original 4.0L was out and it had a 220kw XR8 engine dropped in. The old bloke had even left the cobra badge on the boot that I had put on 5 years before.

The only car that I've ever owned that I do not still possess is the '91 Mustang LX 5.0 hatchback that was stolen. It was my first new car, and I spec'ed it out and ordered it from the factory. So yes, I'd love to be reunited with it. (I suspect it went to a chop shop after it was stolen, though—it was never recovered.)

For many of us the great memories, dreams, times could be a problem.
That's why I'd go for Dad's Motel T.

I wouldn't mind knowing my lime green charger again actually, all the muscle cars I previously owned survive to this day so I'm happy about that. Only because I choose owner over price. They've all been gone more than 15 years and all still with the people I sold them to. I did repurchase a motorbike I had sold, very happy I did that and I still have it. I don't lose sleep about the cars, it was only ever the bike I dreamed about riding, I figure if you often dream about it and you can buy it (unlike some women) well then you better bring it home.

The family VH commodore lived a very long life after we sold it, got the v8 transplant did plenty of street racing. Unfortunately I was driving past the day it got loaded without wheels onto the scrap yards flat bed, something I would have been better of not seeing. I did miss that one so I bought another VH.

Would love to be reuinited with any of one my previous cars really. More so the ones when I was a lot younger (late 80's early 90's). They were nothing really special, but were special to me. HJ Panelvan, stock as a rock XC 302 (that was actually the plate as well, AXC302), an XD 302C that we put an XG XR8 front on. There are pics of them on here somewhere. Probably none of the newer model cars I would worry about (VN, VS, VX SS etc) but the older ones I would like to know they never went to the crusher or got completely butchered.

Whether I would want them back is a different story, you just dont know what they have been through.

There were two race packs after the XU1, first was the L34 option in the LH and then the A9X option in the LX. The L34 with the race pack bolted on was the fast one, guy I know had a mint one, he might still have it. In any case dead stock he had it up to 230km/h in about 1995 amazing for a factory Torana

I'd love to have two cars back, the first being my first car -1982 TF Cortina, 4 cyl, manual, I loved that car. Got written off by my sister when she was on her L plates so that one will never happen but the one I would MOST want back would be the Black XB Coupe I unfortunately sold to a couple down South in Albany I believe when I still lived in Tassie. 351, C4, 9 inch, Pro welds Funny thing is I end up moving to W.A not too many years afterwards, may be that's trying to tell me something.

My one-that-got-away would be a nice one to see again - a Fairmont with all the chrome trimmings but a dead six and enough rust that attending to it would take a full teardown. It went to a local fellow in trade for the paint on my current Futura. Apparently it was to be turned into another GT Replica, but that's OK.

I miss my '85 XF s-pack: http://youtu.be/ruERk5FmydE . Ater 10 years it was hard to let go. I saw it a few times after I sold it & it was the same feeling you get when you see an ex gf with her new man! For 25 years it was the same colour & after I'd replaced vitualy every mechanical part it was so reliable. I really didn't want to sell it to a teen so when a mid 40's lady came along I accepted. She said she was buying it for her husband. She promptly gave it to her teenage son, he painted it blue & changed the wheels. I hope he prangs it & put's it out of it's misery!

I held on to dads first ever car a Xw fairmont owned since 1979, a pic of it is on my profile.

He wanted to rid it but i refused to give it away so now its mine which im hopeful to restore. My ZD failane as my very first car i give it a pass since im holding onto dads first Xw fairmont.

I do miss my second car a Chrysler charger 770 VH 265 hemi
no chance of reuniting with it, it was sold to wreckers & stripped to go to other chargers.
