Default au auto leaking

hi i was just wondering if anyone has had this problem, the auto in my au1 is leaking from the back of the sump, i've taken it to my mechanic and he's cleaned around the area and tightened the bolts on the sump, but it's still leaking, doesn't look like is coming from the rear tail shaft seal as there's no oil around it. but he said it could be coming from the breather at the top, it only leaks when i turn the car off and it sits for a few-minutes then it oil starts dripping but only for a little bit then stops, im going to take it back to my mechanics tomorrow so he can look at it.

Ive had a leak from the auto pan gasket before which was a simple & cheap replace.

I had a very similar problem. Turned out to be cracked/broken seals. Replace the cheap rubber ones with some copper ones. It's a good start at least.

dont think its that cause i had the auto serviced 12000km's ago, but thanks i wish was that easy and cheap.

I had the same problem, turned out to be a gasket that needed replacing.

What's the bet that they've tightened the bolts a little too much. This flattens the pan and then no matter what you can't get a good seal, by re-tightening the bolts he has just made it worse. I've had this happen to mine before that the only real fix is a new pan. Thankfully these are pretty inexpensive.

RG, I think this is exactly what happened with mine. The mechanic struggled for ages to undo the bolts and said that Superman must have done them up. He was having a really hard time. A reputable Ford dealer may have done it.

just got back from my mechanics, turns out it was the oring around the servo was stuffed so its been replaced and hopefully that fixes the problem :

you can straighten the pan rails while its resting on a block of wood or something similar out, usually a few hits with the persuader will do it, never found a metal one that could`nt be fixed.
