Why do the same bunch of clowns always blame the unions and wages for Holden and Fords downfall, when wages make up such a tiny fraction of the costs involved in building cars.
Do they have some serious chips on their shoulders or what? Electricity is the biggest cost, the electricity required to run the engine plant is in excess of 50k a month, and it's one of the smallest plants Ford have here. The cost to run the casting plant would be astronomical. If it wasn't at least 200k a month i'd be surprised. And spread that cost over 30000 cars a year and it adds up to quite a lot of money per car. Spread it over 250,000 cars a year in a mega factory in a country with low electricity costs and you can see the cost per car would be many times smaller than what FoA pay per car. |

No boss its the greedy workers the government holden management and australian buyers had nothing to do with it if only they worked for 20 dollars an hour sent there kids to public school never wanted to buy a house or eat out regularly they'd still have a job and all the people saying that have volunteered to take a pay cut in there own job to not look like hypocritical ****s
