Does anyone remember years ago when that Commodore fell apart in 2 peices at the traffic lights? I'm after a pic if anyone has one. I know its probabbly a big ask, but I'm hoping someone has one.

Yes from memory it was in Canberra and the Commodore hit a brick on the road and fell in two pieces. From what I was told Holden refunded her money and gave her another Commodore. Sorry though no pics.

Jeez Belconnen Way would have to be up there with one of the worst roads for it to happen on. That would on the other hand be wild to see.

The Wheels tidbit is a separate issue.

The truth is this happened at the intersection of Belconnen Way next to calvary Hospital. It was one of two events. This particular event was caused where the Commode was towing a trailer and the trailer was t-boned. The car severed at approx the B-pillar and was caused by a large number of spot welds which were not there from production. After a second event Holden did some major damage control.

I remember a pic in the Canberra Times but of course this was all pre-internet so good luck finding one now. I believe it was circa 1982.
