Default Any people familiar with modding a PS2?

Ok, I bought a PS2 (fat style) a while back and was looking into getting a modchip for it, so I can make a copy of all of my games. However, I seen something before called HDLoader, which well, I don't know what it is exactly, does anybody else here have it or something similar, and is it good?

So i'm guessing this will not work with a PS2 that has been chipped? Not sure about the comment on a $150+ repair bill for laser repair, I can get that done for around $20

As far as I know, it will. As near as I can tell, it's just a computer hard drive, modified to work and fit into the expansion slot of the ps2. Only older styles can use this, the slim ones don't have the bay. Then, from there, I think the people who send the mdded hard drive have installed software on it so instead of the Ps2's bootup menu with "Browse" and "System configuration" buttons, there must be a way to get into the hard drive. The point of it is so that you copy the games onto the hard drive, and never have to get up and change the cd.

I'm also guessing loading times would decrease too because the HDD is faster than reading of a DVD.

A: HD Loader works with any (functioning) PS2. It doesn't matter if you had it 'modchipped' or if you want to play online games and/or games using the hard drive.
Should work.
