Talking Which way to go?

I've just picked up a TE cortina as my new project car. I'm struggling do decide which way to go with the engine. Ideally i would like drop a 302W straight in.. The only hiccup is engineering and the cost associated with it. The other option is the XF 250 crossflow alloy head. My fear is putting the crossflow in and not getting enough power to put the big cheesy grin on my face. Anyone engineered a TE that could give me a ballpark figure on cost? Any advice, hints or tips would be greatly appreciated!

for the hassles associated with a v8, and the several thousand dollar pricetag, buy one already converted. the 6 is cheap, plentiful and there are few ppl now getting into the 11's and 12's naturally aspirated.
