Hypothetical: (note to trolls & morons this means it is not actually real)
In the 2007 election, Labor and Liberal both failed to aquire enough seats to form Government in their own right. The balance of power is held by the "Walk don't emit" party that is an amalgam of the greens and scruby. In order to allow a Goverment to be formed their primary agenda in to remove all pre emmission control vehicles from the roads. This means that all the muscle cars will no longer be allowed to be driven on any road in Australia ever. Compensation is offered but so as to prevent profiteering all that can be claimed in the purchase value. e.g. If you bought a new phase 3 and have owned it ever since you get about $6k. This has been tested in court and upheld. All vehicles handed in will be destroyed. Any vehicle kept can never be sold or transfered and when the owner dies it must be donated to a federal museum. In order to keep a vehicle you must pay a $1,000 per year fee to cover paperwork and inspections. So here is the question: Do you hand in your pristine Phase 3 and recover the $250,000 you paid for it 5 years ago and watch it be crushed or do you keep it, knowing that you can not drive it except on race tracks and you cannot ever sell it so the $250k is lost for ever but you are preserving the car for the future? |

Seems like dejavu,96' all over again.
I would rather turn criminal,or raise an army off petrol head hoons, which will create a petrol head/muscle car home land, and secede from Aus. Where we would all run amok, running over old granny's and wowsers, and the disabled, each will be awarded points based on level of skill required to run down.. Of course,we are only in the hypothetical after all... |

This new country, could you make it a region that the rest of Australia could easily do without? Sydney might be a good choice. For clarity: The rules will NEVER change. |
