Default Hi from newbie

Hi all,im new here so please be gentle.Im not new to Fords as i have owned a few but i have just brought an AU2 ute last tuesday and put a deposit down on a 03 BA wagon for the missus.
I will prob have lots of questions for you all now ive gone back down the Ford track and i help you can help.
Straight off the bat has anybody heard of an AU not being fitted with A/C.The one i got doesnt and my little brother that has been working at Duhig ford for the last 17 years told me he has never seen one.
Im confused.

Maybe but why would you not get air?It has an idler pulley in place of the compressor.Im off to the wreckers on Monday to get a price on a complete kit and con my brother to fit it.Its a full dash out job im told.

Air is still an option on Utes, so yes in theory you can get one without it.

Its been standard on the sedans since the AU first came out though.

It has the switch on the dash but nothing under the bonnet and never has,dont know about under the bonnet but i think my bro had a look and said it had nothing.Looks like he has a job on his hands.

If fall else fails just wind down your windows. Air is free in that sense : I can't remember the last time I used A/C in any car!

Nah need air,the AU replaces a Rodeo that had no air.I got it from the auctions and just assumed it had air so im a little ****ed.Been kicking myself all day.I brought a BA wagon this afternoon and im not even excited about it. :

I live in Canberra and it gets hot enough : High 30s low 40s isn't out of the ordinary here and in contrast some of the coldest days you will see too. The hottest day I have lived through is 48c and I thought I was going to die especially since it was NY day and alco was in the system!!

I need air in winter too coz im in and out the car and if im wet the car gets very damp inside and hard to clear the screen.I only payed $8700 for it and its dedicated gas.
