Now is it just me or does anyone else out there have a huge fascination with old cars? I'm talking like pre-1950. I joined a Veteran & Vintage car club just so I can learn more about them! My personal fav is an Austin 7, don't know why, I just like it.
Just to think these cars, in their day, were looked at like we look at BF Falcons today. Pretty amazing, and its awesome to see people still restoring these old beauties to their former glory.

i am obbsessed with them. just love the way they look they have so much shape to them they all have a personality lol.

my favorite era of cars would have to be the 50s.
BIG fins, BIG chrome on BIG cars....what more could you want? |

love the old cars myself, a mates dad is rebuilding a race car built in the 50's complete with flathead v8! loving it!

mmm love them, i like the 40's and 50's in particular.
As has already been mentioned, big and shiny = beautiful (and causes excessive amount of drooling lol) |

I had the pleasure of owning some of these old Fords. My first was a 1928 A model roadster, bought it off the original owner in 1958, it had been in his garage on blocks for years. The old fellow used to keep it dusted and polished. I bought it off him for $14 in to-days money. Sold it for $50.
Next was a 1931 'New Beauty' 4 door sedan. Bought it with a cracked chassis where the front spring mounted.(Took 2 hours work to repair). Had a new motor in it, paid $38 for it. Sold it 9 months later to a guy who wanted the motor for a boat. Lost money on it, sold it for $20. My pride and joy was a 1938 Mercury 2 door sloper. Cost me big time, $250. Wasn't too many cars that could beat it. Broke a back axle in it and left it parked outside my fiancee's house and joined the Navy. Dad sold it for me 2 years later for less than half of what I paid for it. My old man had a 3A customline, a fine motor car and probably the best looking vehicle at that time.
