spam. none of us are safe. i get 5 or more emails a day at work, usually selling viagra, a few offering me some magnificent share tip and the odd 'bank' email telling me to click here to update my details. what can you do?

Block and delete it. Don't waste your time even thinking about it.

The lecturers who teach my year level at uni must wonder why they're getting so many invitations for S&M from an adult matchmaking site... :Reverend:

I get 10-20 spam emails a day, and the spam blocker only works on particular ones, there are always new ones coming through. I think if you have an email listed on a website somewhere it's worse

At the moment the viagra ones and the israeli brockerage ones are giving me the sh*ts

Unfortunately, there is not much one can do about spam. It's a fact of internet life now. See if your ISP offers spam filtering if you wish to stop it from getting to you. Some of the better ISP's offer this service for free (E.g. Internode). Some really big ones (*cough* Telstra Bigpond *cough*) do not have a free service and you have to pay for the spam removal.

Another thing you can do is install a spam filter for your e-mail client. I believe that the later versions of Outlook has this already. A great e-mail client is Mozilla Thunderbird. It is free and has built in junk mail filters that you can train up to remove junk e-mails.

Yeah, Internode take care of my main email addresses but its the hotmail one that gets filled with rubbish... I don't even look anymore, I simply select all and delete (hopefully no decent emails are amongst the junk : )

your an evil man! :jab:

best way to go is if its a yahoo or hotmail its getting sent to just make another one up. but be careful who you add this time around.

if its your ISP email then ask them if you can change it or if they can do something about it... they should be able to help you out.

anyways NEVER click on links or open attachments from someone you dont no, and a bank will NEVER ask for your details over the internet, and theres a virus going around on msn messenger saying is this photo you? will a link to sexc.........com or org DONT click on it.

enjoy

She obviously thinks you are really hot and tracked down your email address. I think she wants to have steamy intimate relations with you. You should immediatly click on the link and allow this to happen. :monkes:

I have never got any spam mail in my Hotmail or on our ISP account. I wouldn't know it existed until it become common knowledge that it's a problem.

If someone has you in their contact list and they get a virus, your email address could be stolen from that.

The worst offenders are those who forward emails to bulk people, the forwarded email go into no mans land and somewhere down the line the end user has hundreds of new emails to add to a spam list, that simple.

People should forward bulk email via the BCC option as this will stop it.

All you can do is the right thing your end but there are many who don't. I would deal with up to 75-100 min spam mails a day and it is a never ending fight.

as for the spam mail, grow 3 inches a day, make $ while you sleep and order a bride here. all i can say is its huge i have billions in cash and run a herom of wive's.

all good really. Love to jam every spammers head in a vice and squash it.

Dont forget the ones telling you, that you have won the lottery $35,million dollars, or the one that says he is the legal person of so and so and they want to use your bank account to transfer $5,000,000.00 dollars into it.
