Default ACC stopped working

Did a run to Tamworth and back and the weekend and the cruise decided it didn't want to work anymore. If I kept pushing the button it would eventually come up with the message "ACC not available" and an image of the hand book.

I've checked all the fuses but can't find any obvious reason why it would just stop operating. It would of been very handy on those roads around Walcha too where she kept creeping up over $1.30. Luckily the only HWP I saw were three cars all refuelling in Walcha.

Anyone else had a similar issue?

Hi Mud,

Have you checked the adjustment of the Brake Pedal Switch (BPS).

I'm not sure if the Mondeo is similar to the Territory, but in the T they route the CC power thru a set of contacts in the BPS. The M may be similar and if there is any mal-adjustment the system thinks the Brake is being used and shuts the CC off ( or puts it into standby if its active).

Good Luck

Cheers

That's a great suggestion!

Thanks Alan, I'll check it out.

I had the same thing happen in our MB XR5. Ours was an intermittent problem, then wouldn't work at all after a while.
I was thinking it was the radar or something like that, and it turned out to be the ACC switch on the steering wheel. Luckily for me Ford replaced it under warranty. (The whole 3 button & rocker switch part)

I get around this problem by flicking the rear switch (Bar Control) randomly several times & most times the ACC then becomes available.
