Exclamation Mondeo ST 300HP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gearbox options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic. It is likely that a six-speed double-clutch unit, now under development in a joint venture between Ford and Getrag, will be added when a planned 300-horsepower 2.5-liter five-cylinder ST performance version of the new Mondeo bows in 2008.
That will be awsome!!!!!!!!!!!! Ford Australia bring it here !!!!

That will be awesome! No doubt using the XR5 engine, but getting some extra horsies out of there!

Ford Australia would do well to bring them out here, but since they don't designate them ST's over here, what would they call it? XR5 is already taken, and XR7 would just be stupid since it doesn't have 7 cylinders!

Mmmmm.... definintely a pointer to the Focus RS engine also...

As for naming... They will call it "Rear View Mondeo"... as thats all anyone would get to see of it Or the sensible approach would be to name it as in the EU Mondeo ST.

Whats wrong with Mondeo XR5? Surely that differentiates it from the focus XR5...

Sounds cool anyway.

That might work, cause most people need to say Focus XR5 before people twig as to what it is.

There will be no Focus RS, however there will be a 'ford approved' dealer upgrade to 285PS with plenty more torque for the current ST225 (XR5) for those wanting even more punch. This is due out in the UK towards the end of the year.
