Default Lane assist seems useless.

I drove and early 2017 Everest Trend a few months back and liked the way the lane assist guides you away from lines. It would push the car away from a line if you were getting close. In fact, I played about and let the car bounce from side to side to test it. Until it got cross and told me to put my hands in the wheel. But it did stay in the lane.

My new Mondeo Trend has lane assist. But it just vibrates sometimes when you cross the line. (Note, only when you cross. So, too late to avoid an issue) I think I felt it once try to correct me and push away. But 95% of the time, it just vibrates. And I’d say it only reacts at all maybe half the time.

Is this expected? Seems very unreliable and the assist but seems to mawork not be a warning. Not as good as the older Everest.

I agree.
This feature is useless in the Mondeo!

I agree it's disappointing - but I do enable it when on the highway anyway. I get a vibration when on the white line, but the actual assistance it puts through the steering is barely noticeable.

Check your settings in the menu system.

You can have "alert" and "alert + aid"

Make sure "alert + aid" is selected

See how you go
