I had an AU V8 then a Focus XR5 and now an ST and i can tell that when all cars have been driven in anger neither the XR5 (Very modded) nor my ST got anywhere near the AU's fuel consumption. My AU was constantly around 15L/100. XR5 was 11/100 (never knew it standard because it was purchased new and modded/tuned with in 2 weeks. My ST is at 8.6L/100 have never seen more than 9 Anyway just posting my experience, not trying to argue.
