I think, by the look of the engine bay, its been for a swim. Its in NSW, even though its QLD regoed, which means no Repairable status, and thus becomes a Stst write off. This would be the perfect base for a race/drag/drift car.

Look at the front wheels ... the left one is pointing straight ahead and the right one is turned in, as is the steering wheel.
And she's been for a swim.

Nah its in Milperra NSW, hasn't been for a swim just gone off the road by the looks of it, airborn and done alot of damage underneath. Those cars are Brisbane based so the rep must have been away from home.

Engine does not seem to be sitting square either. Suprised they havent gone and got their personalised plates off it.

I thought the engine looked a little offset, but put it down to me seeing it early in the morning, lol (still half asleep).

The damage is the lh front and lh rear from what you can see. If you look at the front skirt bottom lh side you can see scrap marks. Also the lh front has some serious positive camber going and on the rear left suspension some weird angles going on. What you cant see is what is stuffed underneath ie front cross member, rear craddle, lower control arms possibly rails etc. Must be pretty bad to be a stat writeoff. I have seen worse been repaired, In fact I have repaired worse myself but as I said you cant see underneath

In think it's been airborne and come down hard. The engine is definately off to one side.

Don't think it's been for a swim at all. The engine in our new G6E looks pretty much as dirty looking as that (apart from the oil mist at the front there). They don't even paint the blocks anymore leaving them "rusty looking". Gone are the days of manufacturers making the underbonnet look neat and tidy and well-detailed.

Very big shame with that ute, it was awesome and extremely well looked after.
The owner is ok though which is the main thing.

The car isnt damaged at the front... no head on.
Thats why the airbag didnt go off.

Id say the car has bottomed out big time somewhere on our great roads and broken a few crossmembers and suspension.

It's hard to see but the engine looks as if it's parted company with it's right engine mount? Just my eyes?

Yep, just blow up the webpage with the little "%" button and you can clearly see it ain't where it's supposed to be anymore...something severe has happened underneath there. I'd love to see what's happened underneath...

I'd say it's driven over something like a silent cop when it's bottomed out and impacted the transmission (pulling the engine from the mounts) and ripped a whole bunch of suspension with it. Impact was definately on passenger side as is evidenced by the scuff mark in the photo of the front bar and the fact that the rear of the engine is more over to the drivers side. That, and the rear passenger side suspension appearing to all but have collapsed. Either way, it's only useful for parts.
