Default Stolen XYGT same area as XA coupe

Another Falcon GT Stolen ... same area as the Wild Plum Hardtop.

Info as follows:

Some low life stolen my fathers pride and joy last. Just wondering if you could help spread the word. This XY was one of 2 that came from factory with colour code "spec"
Zercon Green. I have attached pics and a reward is being offered. It is probably already in pieces..
They broke steering lock, brake and clutch padlock, and in locked garage.
Car is (was) housed in Narrabri but it was taked in Coolangatta.

Thanks

Guys with any old school cars should make sure their insurance is adequate, and that they are locked up/alarmed etc as there has been alot of stolen muscle cars lately..
Hope you recover it mate. Pic doesnt work for me either.

I was always paranoid about my XYGT Replica, It had all original GT parts and in imaculate condition, I would lock my double gates, lock my shed, lock the car, I had an alarm installed, and kept minimal petrol in the tank so they couldnt get far, but if someone really wants to steal something theyll probarbly end up with it. What will they do with these cars? They cant put them on the market, as changing the VIN number will make them worthless compared to what theyre valued at, and you wouldnt want to drive them because people will start asking questions about these cars, and cutting them up for parts would be silly as the car is worth more complete(Factory GT), so what will happen to these cars??

Sounds like they're being stolen to order.

It's not uncommon.

Someone on the Skyline forums got an anonymous call a week or so after his GTR was stolen, telling him to stop looking for it, that it was all in one piece, but he wouldn't see it again.
They told him that there was a list of cars wanted, and his fitted the bill.

My guess is that they would be shipped overseas.
As there is demand from collectors all over the world.
And the vin/engine number is only flagged by REVS in certain states within Australia.

Having had 4 cars and a bike of mine stolen over the years it still makes me sick when I hear of this going on. I have a pretty good idea what youre going through, best of luck with the recovery.

I'm a little cautious at the moment as my daughter recently found someone trespassing on our property taking photos of my XB GT Coupe replica(no one was at home).
When she arrived home and drove up our long driveway to see him beside the house with a camera. She asked him what he was doing and he lied telling her he had my permission to take some photos, and then he walked off down the street.

From someone who had their Formula Ford open wheeler recently stolen, I am longer amazed at the pin heads who do this.

We all now think the car has ended up in a scrap bin.

Hope your result is better.

The lengths some thieves go to is just beyond anyone's comprehension.

A conversation that was bought up not long ago at work where this particular person had his genuine XY GTHO that was put right at the back of his garage with other cars parked in front was stolen were thieves rolled out the cars that were parked in front and also rolling out the gt with the occupants still at the promises without them even realising a crime was in progress!

Absolutely distressing and good luck in its recovery!

My mate had a similar thing with his Lancer Evo. Found a bloke taking photos of his car in his work carpark in Wodonga. When he approached him the guy said he was an Evo "enthusiast" and was getting pics for a website. He's pretty sure he saw the same guy taking pics of his house a day or so later. About 3 weeks later, someone broke into his house through the roof and grabbed the keys. They almost got the car but his pomeranian guard dog raised the alarm as they were trying to open the garage door. Guys took off on foot with car keys and alarm control in hand. Mongrels!!
