Default Fuel Usage Reading Inconsistent???

I have noticed recently my Focus fuel usage is up around 10.5 Litres per 100km.

When I reset it then it shows a seemenly more accurate reading of between 7.5Litres & 8.5Litres per 100KLMS.

BUT this only lasts until I restart the car : and it reverts back to the odd reading.

I am fairly certain the car is not using this higher amount of fuel.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Stop drag racing - fuel economy will go down!
Have you worked out how many KMS to a tank you are getting, and then working it out from then?

I keep meaning to but am only doing short hops around the suburbs lately.

It is only a guesstimate (sic) mate but I am sure the fuel economy is better than what the readout is showing.

How accurate is yours?

Haha yeah up!
Mine seems pretty spot on. Has been around 8.1 - 8.2 for the past month or so.

I first thought it might be crap fuel but it feels more like a dodgey read out.

Worked perfectly on a 5,500klm trip late last year.

Anyone else have doubts on the accuracy of this?
