A modded HWP GT-F from Herrod and Dick Johnson, this might be one example where a modded collectable could make it worth more.

There is more than one. Herrods and Djr have done a few. Would be a great collectable.

I seen this getting built few weeks back at DJR HQ. Looked great and if I remember right, was good for about 850HP. It's not the 'standard' GT-F engine; they ripped that one out and put in another!

Not if it's for promo - I'd say it's a good way to engage the public at events. Considerably cheaper than radio, magazine or TV advertising, and given the fact that it's so different, it will generate news reports at a fraction of the cost.

Maybe some work was done at Herrod's, then the rest at DJR HQ.
Joint venture, just like the DJR320!

IIRC it and all work was donated to the NSWPS. They did it with the last one. And as the copper who drives it says, "An enthusiast will see this one, a hoon will see that one" *points the the battle damaged and scratched up, unwashed, run of the mill VE SS.*

You sure about that? If you were offered one of two 2 GTF's to buy, which would you choose? The one that has been in a garage all it's life and never taken out of first gear (figuratively speaking) or a car that has been modified by two of Australia's ford legends history, a REAL story to tell, and is truly a "one of a kind" GT-F? I know which one I'd take, any you'd be hard pressed to find anyone else who would take the "Ordinary" GTF. Why? Cause there are hundreds of em' literally!

It's got 600 on the engine so that's either 450kw or 800hp at the flywheel.
Would be good to know what goodies it has ie running gear etc.

Wonder if this car would participate in the off street drags?

There used to be a 'beat the heat' police car that raced at the drags.

They tried to encourage racing on the strip instead of the street.

Always laugh when things like hus happen, "Waste of tax money", really? People are always trying to convince the police that we aren't all clueless hoons, how the government should use audtralian built cars etc...

Here we have the police showing an interest in our passion, Australian cars and makingbthings go fast...and people whinge?

They bought a Falcon...

The last GT...

I wonder if it is engineered or if different rules apply for the police? Not that they have to worry about getting harassed and the EPA every time they go for a drive on a Friday night.

i don't see it that way, i see hypocrites who pick on folks who enjoy having modified their pride and joy and then be stereotyped as "hoons"
this modified GT is just another part of that hypocrassy.

Very hypocritical.
