Mazda needs new models. The Mazda 6 is over 10 years old!

CX3 and CX9 are a little old, but otherwise their models are all fresh.

From what I recall, Mazda have been dithering over replacing the 6 due to question marks over the viability of the sedan segment. Media reports indicate the Mazda 6 replacement is due in 2025 and will go upmarket.
And while I am a fan of the bottom end of their range (e.g. 3, CX-5), I am not sure about Mazda's attempt to go upmarket with the CX-90 and CX-60. Sure, they look nice. But, for the cost of the CX-6/90, they don't seem to have the engineering polish of say an Audi, BMW, et al. Lots of little engineering niggles (rough ride, drivetrain snatch, etc). Mazda have their work cut out not to get pushed out of their niche. |
