My Beloved EF Fairmont has started making a dull thump when changing up this is not constant seems when she warmed right up, its not occurring all the time could this be due to the gearbox fluid in need of replacement i dipped it and the level is ok or is this a sign of an aging auto transmission ?

Get it serviced if it hasn’t been for a while,my old el did similar and it was an issue with the valve body.

Many thanks for your reply she is due for a service in a couple of weeks so i will get them to check the valve body regards Geoff
