Cant see why not. Think of it as a computer you tune to each cars requirements. Like a unichip but on steroids. So long as it can be wired into an ECU (and I know it can be wired into the EECV) then it can be tuned to suit the car.

lol, I'll let you all know as soon as I save up enough to get mine fitted and tuned. I cant wait!!!
When I was speaking to Jim and Brenden about its potentials I was almost drooling. Once its in I'll give those interested a full rundown on what gains and drivability changes it makes to the car though. Just need to get the $$ together to fit it.

Ignore that.. I'm going to go edit now I think.

Well Shane, dont be greedy, let us know the potential.
I am very seriously thinking about one of these little monsters.
And that will be the end of my engine mods.

just got back from jmm
gained 10rwkw , 146 to 156 , not too bad for an auto i reakon.
haven't really given it a good kicking yet , there was too much traffic on the
way home. but seems to be pulling a fair bit harder.

......now i guess its time to start saving for the high stall :evilsasmo

I have an ef with the jmm dev 6 kit thats rated at 185rwkw, what sort of power increase would I expect to get if I had the tuner installed?

Just looking at the JMM website, the DEV5 makes 170rwkws v DEV5-SS (looks to be a DEV5 with the interceptor fitted) makes 175rwkw. I would say you may not get a massive power gain, but more of a mid range kick with improved drivability (if that makes sense).

I have a DEV5 in an EF and got a XR6 ECU put in it. I only got 8 more kw at the weeks, but the mid range is now much better.

Sorry to go off topic here, but what was done to your engine to make a DEV6 (the website doesn't have any details)? How much power did you end up getting at the wheels and what does the engine rev out to? It must be a pretty nice setup.

I think that the only diference is the actual cam specs. its very lumpy and is meant to be a bit of a pig around town to drive but I dont have a problem or complaint about its road manners, I LOVE IT. Its got heaps of power and returns fairly good fuel economy for what it is and its a daily driver. On an independant local dyno with this engine in my previous EA, it put out 183rwkw instead of 185 because im running SVO genie extractors instead of JMM ones. Out the drags down the 1/8th mile in the EA with the exhaust off I got it to a best time of 9.3 with either missing 3rd gear or getting to much wheelspin off the line. With the perfect launch and good gear shifts it will run 9.1. Not bad when the brand new XR8's are running around 10.5.

Huh?

A new XR8 Boss will run a hell of a lot quicker then 10.5 for the 1/8th. A 10.5 1/8th is like a 16.000 1/4

In fact, my auto XR6 with a Dev1 and a cool night ran a 9.751@74.21 1/8th and I'm pretty sure any XR8 BA will munch my car.
