At first he was OK but as he got more famous he started going more grunge.
I gotta admit I wasn't really a fan.
Just lately he was looking more and more like a skanky druggy.
Too much fame too quick??

Just another Hollywood victim.......

as long as people earn ridiculous amounts of money and move away from family and suscribe to these ludicrous lifestyles, it will continue to happen.

I am very sorry to hear this and offer my condolences to his family.

Heath Ledger Found Dead in NYC
Jan. 22, 2008, 5:11 PM EST
The Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence, and police said drugs may have been a factor. He was 28. NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let him know the masseuse had arrived found him dead at 3:26 p.m.

The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Oscar for "Brokeback Mountain," where he met his wife, actress Michelle Williams, in 2005. Ledger and Williams had lived in Brooklyn and had a daughter, Matilda, until they split up last year.

Ledger was to appear as the Joker this year in "The Dark Night," a sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins." He's had starring roles in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot," and played the suicidal son of Billy Bob Thornton in "Monster's Ball."

Ledger grew up in Perth, and began doing amateur theater at age 10. At 16, he moved to Sydney to pursue an acting career, quickly landing TV movie roles and guest spots on Australian television.

After several independent films and a starring role in the short-lived Fox TV series "Roar," Ledger moved to Los Angeles and costarred in "10 Things I Hate About You," a teen comedy reworking of "The Taming of the Shrew."

Offers for other teen flicks came his way, but Ledger turned them down, preferring to remain idle than sign on for projects he didn't like.

"It wasn't a hard decision for me," Ledger told the Associated Press in 2001. "It was hard for everyone else around me to understand. Agents were like, `You're crazy,' my parents were like, `Come on, you have to eat.'"

His latest role was in "I'm Not There," in which he played one of the many incarnations of Bob Dylan — as did Cate Blanchett, whose performance in that film earned an Oscar nomination Tuesday for best supporting actress.

wow, the speedcar I'm building is a replica of the car that Heath's father owns. Kim Ledger was a state champ years back. Heath actually drove Michael's car a while back too, and by all reports was a natural at it. Sad day.....

Heath Ledger found dead
Wednesday Jan 23 08:00 AEDT

Australian actor Heath Ledger has been found dead in New York, according to US police.

The 28-year-old was found dead at a residence in Broome St, Manhattan, by his housekeeper.

The New York Post reports that Ledger died of a drug overdose.

His apartment was strewn with pills, the paper reported. It was unclear if it was an intentional or accidental death.

Ledger split from his wife Michelle Williams, with whom he had a daughter, last year.

Its sad how people get to a state where they find death as the only way out :(

That is sad news...

He was a Perth boy.

At least he wasn't a jumper....imagine the jokes coming from that one seeing the last name Ledger!

While it is sad that he has passed, I don't feel sorry for him at all. Condolences to his family, but for someone to take their own life is so very selfish.

I can just imagine how hard his life must have been, what with all the money and beautiful girlfriends.

I am only saying this because the news states that it was drug related, but i would be happy to be proven wrong if it was accidental/natural.
