Over 800 Everests as well. It’s picked up significantly this year.

Amazing that both Ranger and Everest are at the end of their life cycles and setting record numbers. That basically never happens.

Outstanding. The Ford brand is really starting to get some credibility back with Australian buyers. If they get the new Ranger and Everest right and early indications show they will, it’s only going to get better for the brand in Australia.

Fair call.

Apart from Ranger, Everest very close to Pajero Sport in sales in that’s Segment.
Mustang over 400 sales. Pretty good numbers. If ford can boost the rest of the range (maybe advertise perhaps?) it will only be a good thing. They truly don’t have a bad car in the range.

Although a lot of those sales for Ford would be EOFY sales, a sale is a sale.

If you think back to the days when the Falcon made up the bulk of Ford sales, it would always be heavy discounting at the end of the model cycle in an attempt to maintain sales. Ranger and Everest are the opposite to this, they just keep selling. And no discounting of the base model to get people in the door. How things have changed for Ford.

Ford June Numbers -

Ford Escape – 55
Ford Everest – 803
Ford Fiesta – 42
Ford Focus – 62
Ford Mustang – 437
Ford Puma – 357
Ford Ranger 4x2 – 448
Ford Ranger 4x4 – 5610
Ford Transit Bus – 23
Ford Transit Custom – 475
Ford Transit Heavy – 144
Ford Total – 8456

Encouraging numbers for the Puma, Escape sales down due to stock issues and factory shut-downs.

Pretty well same/same for Ford.. 1 platform doing all the heavy lifting (Ranger/Everest) but glad to see the Ranger in top spot, beating out Hilux. Izuzu D-Max is a big performer, out of nowwhere into 3rd!!!

Your right, look at what is actually selling for Ford - Ranger/Everest/Mustang.. All of which are rarely sold with much discount at all because Ford cant keep supply of the damn things... Good for the bottom line.

Puma and Escape problems are a combination of supply issues (though their competitors are in the same boat) and very strong competitors in segment that are As good/better and have better brand recognition. Perhaps if Ford pulled the finger out and spend some decent $$ in advertising/sponsorship's, that could change... I hope it does...

Escape could be a genuine opportunity once supply returns, probably next year at this stage. Seems like they've got a good product this generation and the price is competitive. Not sure whether, or to what extent, the Escape name turns people off. What Mazda and Toyota achieve with their medium SUV entrants, if Ford captured even a modest share of that space it would take some pressure off Ranger.

So that is roughly 6800 Ranger Everest out of their Thailand factory.
What other markets does that plant supply and what is it’s total annual output.

I’m not sure why anyone would buy a Pajero Sport. Are they cheap? The Everest is light years ahead of it in every way.

Yeah, what a surprise, companies rushing out to buy trucks before 30th June. Makes me proud to be a Ford owner.

Sadly, far too many of those will be the ubiquitous dimwitted small business owner / tradie, who still thinks that "100% tax deductible" means you get 100% of the money back

Top of the line exceed model is $60k. They start at $47k. Both figures drive away. Makes it cheaper than Everest I believe.

Value for money… fully loaded top of the range is $61k… same price as a one up from base Trend Everest and $17k less than equivalent fully loaded Everest…

Don’t get me wrong, I’d buy the Everest every time (spend a few k more and get the Sport) but for a family buyer on a budget, they are great value.

but Hilux is way out in front, about 147k annual there in 2019.

2021 Jan-May sales innThailand:
1. D-Max…………...74,181
2. Hilux……………...62,164
3. Honda City…….19,207
4.Ranger…………….12,650

Ranger 4x2 isn't very popular, why does everyone want the 4x4 variation? Surely not everyone is bashing around off road where the extra diff is an extra expense and service requirement you don't need.

8,103 Chinese made vehicles out of 110,664 = 7.3%!

1 in 14 cars made in China.

Next year will be 1 in 10.

I looked at that segment last year and was surprised how good the PS was. I don't think it's the best in any one area but there's basically no flaws in the package, just does everything well, I can see why they sell a lot of them. Really good diesel and auto combo, particularly for towing (same trans as 200 series cruiser, proper cooling setup etc), the 2L/10 speed in Everest is quite busy by comparison and would not be my first choice for towing, I'd prefer the 'lesser' 3.2L which doesn't seem to hunt for torque.

PS also has the most versatile 4wd system in the segment, centre unlockable diff so can run 2wd/4wd high, competitors are either 2wd high only or 4wd high only on sealed roads. Interior also quite good, differentiated from its ute cousin, things like LCD cluster on the upper model were nice whereas I believe Everest was basically a Ranger inside. At 60k d/a for the fully loaded model they're incredibly good value. For what they're asking for top spec Everest you're paying Prado money for something a bit narrow based on a dual cab, that was my gripe. Although Everest is surprisingly refined and the introduction of the Sport model has helped sales immensely I think.

Great numbers indeed for June, if that was to continue that would be an amazing turn around, I agree with syndrome though, Ford aus never wanted to be the falcon car company and they no longer are, it’s a lot of eggs in 1 basket so I hope for their sake the next gen ranger pulls it off.

There’s two ways to get a non-FBT vehicle, either 4x4 or one Tonne rating.

4x4 gives people buying the highly popular crew cabs a non-FBT vehicle,
that adds up to a sizeable cost saving for companies and small business.

The days of most tradies buying a cheap one tonne single cab are in the past.

This, I know the PS is not best in class but I couldnt justify the extra expense on the Everest regardless of it being better all round.

PS does everything we need and more for a fraction of the price, had better warranty etc so logically it was hard to ignore it. I also got an ex-charity with 13,000km for $36k DA so it wasnt hard.

Well done to the ranger, I would suspect gov incentives to and EOFY would play a part too but either way a sale is a sale.

The Pajero Sport has an 8 speed Aisin auto, the 200 has just a 6 speed.

However the Hilux and Triton both use a 6 speed Aisin transmission. (which is different to the 200s)
