Default Exclusive VE Photos (56K Commit Suicide)

Well here are some pics i grabbed whilst i went past CC Holden at West Gosford today. Sorry i couldnt more/better pics but the cameras batteries were flat.

But here are some anyway- They had two Omega's and one SS-V.

Personally i found the styling inoffensive- not really my cup of tea (bit like a cross of a Audi A4 and a beefed up Vectra but with less overhang) but i didnt hate it. The interior styling was very different- The interior of the SS was good- Whilst Omega was a dissapointment it looked the same as VZ in a way and the Commodore still suffers from that bench back seat and limited legroom. Engine bay looks cramped and hard to work on, the boot however was impressive.

I still think the BF styling is competitive with VE and you now have a choice between two camps of styling with the two cars- I prefer BF but VE is nice nethertheless

Anyhow here the pics- Shrunk in size from orig

*Oh yeah speakers are mounted in rear doors now

The rear of the VE looks alot like a 380, and I'm not trying to compare it like VZ and the old magna. It's even closer

It is very coupe-esque.

Jeez, brand new cars and a bit of touch parking never go astray....lol

Also, has anyone else notice in motor/wheels, that when they give the SS's a canning, there seems to be HEAPS of body roll. Ill look at some XR8's etc later and see if its the same, but I dont rmember it that way.

But in some pics its looks like a foot of clearence from the guards to tyres.

*I did try to get more of the tyes/wheel packages, but the camera died- As per al the ballyhou on LS1- VE Omega have a basic 16" Bridgestone Potenza with hubcaps which look like they are off a VR Acclaim.

I thought some one was claiming the battery was going to be in the boot due to a flawed design..Guess not.

Not really, it just came out that way when I shrank the pics, it looks relatively normal at Full Size. That being said there is a little orange peel in the paint.

Overall its a tidy looking package, however I really really do not like those tail lights. Although it does seem to be the new trend (ala 380 ) I just hope ford doesnt follow suit.

they are just chunky, and you know how the ss looks a bit ill proportioned, with the big flares.. small wheels stupid spoiler and bodykit? the hsv's looks ALOT different.
I will try and get a photo or 2.. .but chances are slim to none.

Cheers

bwahahaha - every 3rd member on this forum has a mate at Holden or HSV, thats not just a dealer....

I like the rear end of the SS, but don't like the rear of the Omega.... Interior is.. neat looking.... Looks like the engine is made of plastic though....

Yeah my dealership mate says the same thing. Reckons the guards are somehow different but I told him he was smoking something. But anyway he is raving about it and is willing to trade my GTP so I guess I will have to wait.

Just about everyone who has seen these HSVs are saying the same thing.

The more i see the SS/SS-V front on, the more i dislike it.

It has such a plasticy lego look about it.
