because the media have built the whole thing up to be something much more than what it really is

She's a convicted drug smuggler...a criminal....it's pathetic the way the Australian media have acted about her.

My opinion on it...she has spent YEARS in gaol. To me the woman has paid her dues for her crime. Guilty or not, she has had plenty of time to reflect on what happened, and hopefully, the rest of her life will be spent on making this world a better place.

Cheers
Col

No interest here, never was. I'm wondering why the media are in a frenzy, again.

Its typical of australians to apply the hero factor to those that dont deserve it. Convicted criminals that profit form their crimes and sports persons who win awards and accolades for kicking or hitting a fn ball.

I'm with you buggerlugs!

Get her off the TV because I couldn't really give a!

They could report on more important things like the drought in Qld, the fact that the Isa, the Curry and other places are really looking down the barrel of no water!

Why so much interest? Her family carrying on like pork chops in front of the media has a lot to do with it.

If reports are correct that she can benefit from this circumventing proceeds of crime laws via a Indo bank account, what lesson is passed to our younger generation?

I agree she has likely done the crime and done the time. Fair enough. But if she now benefits financially that is just plain wrong and the media are the core of the problem.

It was/is a bad day for Australia - 7th February 2009 Black Saturday, 173 Aussies died. RIP

Yet our pathetic media is obsessed with a worthless piece of bogan criminal trash. Go figure.

No one I know gives a flying duck, the media have whipped themselves into a frenzy over it and think we all care.
I like how they say there is a media circus, hello, step back and have a look, you are the circus.
We are going to have to put up with it for a long time, every time she farts it will be headlines. Wait till she comes back to Oz (God I hope not) everyone will be paying her for an exclusive.

That's not all she is...she's about to become a very wealthy criminal. I don't think she'll come back to Australia even after this is all over...if she was here, her and the rest of her criminal family couldn't profit from the lucrative deals they're already shopping around for.

Remember Black Saturday...not some drug smuggler who got caught and paid the price.

Then again, we made a "national hero" out of Ned Kelly, a common horse thief and wantonly cruel cop killer who got what he so richly deserved...no idea why we do that either...

Ch 9 have a vested interest in promoting her due to the telemovie about her family and highly paid interview they will probably do with her

She and her family have or will become wealthy as a result of all this, her sister successfully sued Ch7 for over $1mil a while back.

Very true. Chopper Read, Schapelle, The Underbelly TV series etc, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this.

...and ch 9 have just shot themselves in the foot - they've moved the premiere of the telemovie up to Sunday night against INXS - Never Tear Us Apart.

She should get creamed which is what the grubby mob deserve.
