Default Transporting non-running vehicle?

Looking at a non-running car on the Gold Coast to be transported to regional Victoria. Had one quote for $1750 which I suppose is reasonable for the inconvenience, etc.

Any recommendations on who would transport a non-running (but rolling) vehicle?

There are a number of caravan transporters (flatbed and trailer) based in Vic that return from Qld empty or with a couple of cars on the back.

Perhaps you could try some of them.

Is the pickup point able to load it (probably with a fork)

I used Door to Door to get a running car from Mansfield VIC to Sydney and had nothing but issues.

If you're a member of the NRMA ask them who they use, my old man got a car brought back from Queensland to Sydney for $400 - next wrote after that was $700, car was borrowed by a mate who cooked the motor so it wasn't even moving. These were quotes provided by the vehicle transport companies the nrma normally use.

As GasOLane said , caravan transporters come back from Queensland empty and look for backloading. Google caravan transporters , I used a fellow from Strathfieldsaye ( near Bendigo ) about 2 years ago for a non running small car which was winched on /off , very reasonable price and he delivered to my door in Melbourne . See price above for 2nd quote Queensland to Sydney , mine was from northern suburbs Brisbane to southern suburbs Melbourne.
