Thank you to all the past and present employees of Ford Australia for building locally made products that we are all so very proud of.

Thanks FoA, been buying for 40 odd years, shame it's over.

Thanks FoA for building a family car that wasn't just a family car. For the last 88 years you have been building world class cars just for us, and that's damn nice of you!

Ford Australia will continue, perhaps the Falcon will be made overseas and imported here?
PS; it's not October 2016 yet and a lot can happen between now and then... also the design and engineering centre in Broadmeadows will be retained so the Falcon can be built in Asia and imported here - not ideal but the Falcon doesn't need to end here... All to easy to put the boot into Ford, but like I said before, this would not be a decision Ford wanted to make, no executive or employer likes to sack or close factories. Might be a wake up call for some.
Many good memories, remember sitting in my mates XY and watching him spin his 351 well past 6,000 rpm, that got me interested. The numerous times the linkage on my top loader jams going from 3rd to 2nd, or the time I was driving down the Hume hwy in my inconspicuous Phase 2 minding my own business when a Brock Commodore decided to tailgate me. It was fun watching him get blown away by a car +15 years older than his - was going just slightly over the speed limit... On a plus, falcons will probably be sold off at a discount, would be good to get a new GT at a bargain price |

But can the factory continue for another 3 1/2 years now its official that the new car your looking at is an orphan and the depreciation implications?

Thanks to Everyone at FordAus for building cars we are so passionate about, the passion is obviously a big part of car people that's why we are here fighting over what most people call a car. To us, we know its more than that.
Thanks for giving us the 4 Litre in all of its forms. The best engine from Australia, no contest.

Yes Thanks FOA employees past and present. I love my GS and have one last purchase in me before 2016.
I'm sure the next update in 2014 will be a cracker and allow the Falcon go out with the bang it deserves!

As a kid I always thought this place would be open forever. It seemed so big it could never fall. How times can change.

Even though this is a Ford forum, I think people here should get behind Toyota and Holden for the sake of Aussie jobs and industry. I'll be looking at purchasing a Camry now for my next car. |

Thanks to all the men and women at FoA delivering us the proud vehicles we loved to own and drive.
Gut wrenching to thing of nearly nine decades of heritage ending.

Umm guys it's not dead yet. Still 3 more years to go, and I for one am still looking forward to the 2014 Falcon, which I intend to buy.
But on topic, the Ford Falcon is exactly what kick started my passion for cars, and continues to put a smile on my face when I drive one. |

Its a sad day for the Falcon. Ford has been slowly killing the nameplates for years.
once the Fairlane and Fairmont were gone the Falcons days were numbered.

Yep, Thanks to those who had part in Building my first ever XR6, my XR8 and the F6 I drive today.
There will be a few beers consumed on that sad day in 2016.

my 1st ever falcon was an EL XR8 Manual, Dynamic White in colour, optioned with TIckford body styling kit, 16" TIckford alloys, Wouldn't run a drum against an XT ecolpi today but tell you what, it looked and drove the part. Thanks Ford and those that built it. I had some great days in the back seat of that car.
