Made by Isuzu in the same factory in Thailand.

Oddly, Isuzu will soon be selling the Isuzu D-Max ute. Also made in the same factory, AKA new model rodeo. That Holden did not pick up (no pun intended).

The Colorado sells elsewhere as the Chevy Colorado.

Google them both.

Correct.

Isuzu actually own the Rodeo name, and because they want to sell the D-Max in Australia, they have stopped Holden from using it in a Vein attempt to sell more D-Maxes. I wouldn't buy one because of the name alone.

ok.. i got off my aff and googled . looks like its just an updated model of the isuzu with a new name.
so i guess that we will have 2 versions of much the same ute on sale here soon, one with holden badges and one with isuzu badges.
bit like the mazda - ford ranger setup.

Holden currently import three models from Daweoo in Korea - Epica, Craptiva and Barina.

They pale in comparison to Territory, Mondeo and Fiesta. Having not driven any Korean Holwoos, I can't comment on how they drive/hold up, however they are cheap for a reason.

I was just comparing the Koreans to their equivalent Fords.

Territory is made in Australia.
Focus from South Africa.
Mondeo from (pardon the swearing) Beligium
Fiesta from Germany.

There's no mention of Paxton saying the Territory was imported.

There was only mention of the models Holden import from Korea ... and then rebadged.

He only made a comparison to Ford vehicles that these Korean rebadged vehicles are meant to compete against.

we own a Colorado, good car but i wouldn't get the 3.6 v6 with the auto, not a good combo, the only reason we got it was because my dad dont drive manual and he didint want a diesel.

who cares were its made if it has a 3 year warranty and runs well, buy it.

My wife has the Rodeo with said Alloytec & auto combination ... RWD model.
It's not the best ... but hey ... work give it to her to drive to and from work ... and do the inspections on the busways ... and she gets a fuel card to boot.

They are thirsty buggers ... but she doesn't pay for the fuel ... so she doesn't care about the economy.

God they are bouncy on rough roads.

Just come back from Thailand (for work) and was travelling around in one of these.
It's a basic dual cab ute and not that nice to sit in. It does the job....which is what I guess is its purpose.

Mind you there's a 1:1 ratio on utes to cars in Thailand!

Yeah I noticed that. They don't have the need for rigid trucks there as they'll build any ute into a semi trailer with scaffolding.

I think the reason for that though is they haven't heard of towbars.

Those Chevy utes look pure muscle. Who cares who its made by, car manufacturers are all converging anyway.

Most of the imported utes / light trucks are made in Thailand these days - Ford Ranger, Mazda BT-50, Holden Rodeo & Colorado and Toyota Hilux. The free trade agreement between Aus and Thailand makes it a good option. Nissan Navara is imported from Spain.

Is "made in Thailand" better or worse than "made in Korea"?

All Hondas bar the Accord Euro and Legend are made in Thailand.

Most of the major appliances come out of Thailand as well. Both my Fridge and Washing Machine have Made in Thailand stamped on them.
