Wink Good afternoon, good evening and goodbye

Hi guys,

Andrew from Ford PR here.

Well, after five fun-packed years with Ford Oz I'm off to new challenges, having accepted a job with Ford Asia-Pacific out of Bangkok. I'll be looking after launches in the region, including China, India, Thailand and Taiwan, and quite frankly I'm pretty pumped about getting on the bomber on Sunday and heading off.

I wanted first to let you know Ford PR will still be an active member of this site, with my talented colleague Ed Finn taking over from me on this site. He'll continue to use the Ford PR Man sign-on (assuming that's okay with the mods!) so you'll know when he's there.

Secondly, I wanted to thank you all for making my time here so enjoyable - particularly the great fun I had launching BA and Territory - and the in-your-face honesty of AFF members always kept us in check.

Thirdly, I'd like to thank Russell, Laminge and JohnnyDepp in particular, for the assistance they've provided when I've asked. I'm confident you'll extend the same courtesy to Mr Finn.

I will forever remain a devotee of the forums, looking in from time to time to see what's happening.

Once again thanks, and may the Blue Oval put smiles on your dials over the miles!

cheers

Andrew ;)

Firstly let me say, congrats on the new position

Now I want to have a gripe.

I have on my front seats ford seatcovers they are not ford made but have a big ford logo in the middle of a light grey and dark grey seat cover (matching my grey interior) with seperate head rests.

Now these are a couple of years old and a bit worn, so I wanted to get some more just like I had, well do you think i could get some , NO WAY, there were some around that were the right colour but not with seperate head rests, I asked the store " can you get me the ones I want " the answer "NO, they are a end of line item ford has put the pinch on using the ford logo and manufacturers cant make them anymore" (this could of course be a load of crap).

I guess what I am getting at is, Holden have Holden shops, but ford dont have outlets for ford branded merchandise, why not????

I understand the branding copyright thing but come on, I can go and buy holden seat covers easyily but when it comes to ford - what a drama.

Look, I could be missing something here and if I am by all means let me know , I have scoured the internet and auto stores but no luck if there is a place I can get these than Please tell me before I go INSANE!!!!!!!.

I can go into a number of stores and buy ford key rings, cup holders and even billiard balls and pool cues. WHY CAN I NOT GET A SET OF BLOODY SEAT COVERS.

thanks for listening

All the best Andrew, with your projects in Asia. Just imagine if there was a market in Asia for Ford Australia exporting the Falcon range.....now would'nt that be great news......wonder if that will ever happen ?
Cheers John

Foreign investment by American companies is turning Asia into an energy hungry polluted cesspool. Keep up the good work Ford.

Congratuilations on the new role Andrew - the Asia Pacific region is a real opportunity for growth within the Ford world and I'm sure you will be of benefit to that operation.

Thanks for all of the assistance during the last few years and we look forward to seeing you here from time to time.

Cheers
Russ
