Default October 2006 new car sales

All of the local models sold below expectations in September. Will October be the same, better or worse? How well did the BF MkII models sell?

commodore will have 4000+ even 5000 units sold, falcon will e barely into the 3500, corolla will beat falcon and the camry won't be far behind.

Do the Ford/Holden numbers include the FPV/HSV sales or are they reported seperately ie does an internal sale between Ford and FPV count, or is it only the final sale to end user. And if so, are the FPV/HSV sales figures available?

Oh and my predictions. Falcon 3200 (BF2 not really available, people holding off), Commodore 5900 (the channels should be fill and cars being delivered so no excuses this month).

I wont be putting my hopes up for a resurgence to the large car market.

Holden have pulled forward some of their export builds to make up for the low domestic volumes.

I know three people who are seriously considering getting a Toyota Aurion for their next car. Two of them currently drive Falcons.

The numbers should be released on Friday.

FPV & HSV sales are included in Falcon/Commodore passenger & ute figures.

Separate figures are available, but generally not reported independently of Holden/Ford.

And that really sucks. vFacts do not show a seperate category for either FPV or HSV products.

Sure are ordinary figures. It has alot to do with marketing and cheap Korean imports.

Thats a good result for Fiesta, considering how much dearer it is next to its rivals, and the long waiting list for some models

Those are abysmal figures for the local models. I hope it is due to people waiting for the BF MkII models.

BFII was a update everyone was expecting.

With price reductions across the range and a new look a large number would have held off. I think they will bounce back next month.

Stock is slow and suprisingly people are holding off, due to the fact that the new model is cheaper and theres not that much bonus in runouts.

Still a concern for Ford, but the good ole utes are still pulling thru for them.

I feel that Mazda 3 may have outsold Falcon for October.

Falcon ute was 1 unit higher than the same month last year. Focus is around 30% higher as well.

If you wanted a Falcon and knew for $250 you could get the esp pack of A6, DSC, 17's then you would be a fool to not have placed an order for a BFmkII....not to mention the price drops.

thats not one of the new ones with the bad electronic steering? they are the worst car I have ever driven, and i usually like the hyundai products

the BF2 sales were mainly to fleet companies. Our dealership did alright about even with the past few years. September was really **** for us but you get that.

Still waiting for the main numbers, but heres something I came across.

Record Sales Month For Holden Special Vehicles

Holden Special Vehicles
1 November 2006
www.hsv.com.au

Press Release - Holden Special Vehicles today announced October 2006 as a record month for the high performance car company.

More than 490 retail deliveries were registered in Australia and New Zealand in October, well above the previous monthly record of 436 (December 2004).

Managing Director Phil Harding said the result was a vote of confidence in HSV following a fantastic E series launch and the excellent performance of the exclusive HSV dealer network.

“With 491 retail deliveries in October, we have sold 55 more vehicles than our next best month ever”, Phil Harding said.

“Demand is set to continue based on incoming orders. October was also a record month for production, with 515 cars dispatched to dealers. We have increased production by 50% to keep pace with demand".

“Year to date deliveries now stand at 2632. Our performance this year is exactly to plan, with an orderly run down of production and the sale of outgoing models, followed by a rapid and controlled ramp up of the exciting new E Series”, Harding said.

Mr Harding said HSV was receiving tremendous traffic through dealerships from both its loyal customer base and new buyers.

“I am particularly pleased with the level of interest from ‘Euro’ owners”, Harding said.

“We’re seeing owners of premium European models switching across to the E series based on the extraordinary value, level of performance and high-end specifications across all three vehicles”.

Phil Harding said HSV were continuing to show real leadership in the high performance niche vehicle segment with solid sales performances year after year, setting the standard for performance, technology and value.

“This early local success gives us great confidence for the overseas export potential of both the E series and other vehicle opportunities”, Harding said.

I am not surprised by that news. The V8 models go hard I hear. Good for their image and appeals to the youth. The V6 models aren't doing as well (relatively speaking).

I've seen 3 VE GTSs in the last week here in Auckland. And a lot of VEs too. Mainly Omega and SS.

VE is doing very well in NZ :(

I heard somewhere, that the VE sales were something like 85% V8's. Its unconfirmed as I can't remember where I heard/read it. Not sure what that says about VE, but its a good sign for large cars and V8's (if true).
