Balance beads for tyres

First time I've heard about this. Anybody use them in their vehicles?

Yup used them in two sets of tyres over ~7 years, big heavy wheels and big heavy (35'') tyres and they were silky smooth to high speeds, needed to be doing 62kmhr or more though for them to work. That car is definitely not in its sweet spot at 60km/hr

As above - only really good on oversize 4WD or truck tyres - would not use them in a car. Never had success - have put them in for a couple customers at their request, only to have to remove them down the track.

Come to think about it. I kinda think there might have been a 'slime' type product years ago that 'stated' to help balance tyre's.

They work, I've had a couple of packs in my breakdown kit for longer than I want to remember.

Work a lot better in bigger 4x4 tyres & truck tyres though.

I've used them a lot in trucks, both the beads and powder - had drivers do hundreds of thousands of kms with them and never whinge once about the balance. 120km round trip to a balancer which no one wanted to pay for when I used to fit them.

Hey mate just fyi a quick google or even just a bit of logical thought (if you're able) will show that the beads/sand/powder method works.

To the op, I've used beads twice (35" and 37" mud tyres) with no complaints. Obviously they're more affective the faster you are moving. I wouldnt use them on a passenger car with normal tyres as you can just stick the weights behind the face.
It's common on Trucks, people use them on motorbikes too.

I'm about to go back to knobby tyres on my road/trail bike and plan to use a liquid version called ride-on as it acts as a sealant aswell. Has good reviews and allows for an at home tyre change.

All in all, do recommend for certain applications.

The simplest logical answer to how it works is it adds more mass to the very 'outta' of the circle. . .

















With out thinking of the consequences. But what might happen if that tyres gos 'bang' ??
