WTF would Dick do this on ACA?

I mean no disrespect to him, but ACA is bottom feeding journalism at best, I really really wish he wasn't going public by ACA!

It's sad.

Here it comes....

Probably a paid interview, and any publicity is good publicity perhaps? Nobody does spin like the 'Johnson Clan'. Sick to death of his whingeing and **** moaning and crying poverty. He made some bad business decisions, wouldn't move with the times and tried to support his team by the Johnson name only. Save your money, and just go to your local library and go to the fiction section. Dick lost his credibility years ago, when he threatened to jump ship if his demands weren't met.

Flame away.

A work colleague is a good friend of DJR and Dick himself, this has been a long time coming
and it is testament to the man that when he got burned, he used up all of his own personal wealth
instead of simply burning others.

Apart form a book deal DJ has asked for no cash that I know of, just support for the race team if people see fit...

I know topics like religion aren't to be discussed here but Dick is God, and I swear that if this thread goes the way of the other one I started last night I'm going to flip out.

I agree, an auction would have been better for all parties. If I was owed dough from Dick I would have been expecting a bit more from the cars.
Also a bit tall poppy but I think the Bowdens have enough.

Very noble of you.

Why don't we go one better and start a small charity type fund right here on this forum. I'd be happy to donate as well.

As a FORD forum, it would be a nice gesture to support a FORD legend. He is a big reason i could hold my head high when I had my XE ESP.

We can't bail him out but we can help. I'm sure every cent would count for him right now. Sometimes there doesn't always need to be a friggin business case and tax motivation to help people out.

If anyone on here can organize a legit Tricky Dicky donation fund. I'm in.

Even as a New South Welshman who would consider himself an Australian first would be in for that. Anyone capable of kicking this off?

We wouldn't have the facilities on the Forum's to officially organise a charity fund unfortunately but would say the best way to help the support (and the easiest and direct way) is to buy his up and coming book.

If any clubs, especially in QLD that could organise a run for a donation possibly?

A little bit of kudos to ACA (as much as I hate the show) they have helped him plug his book and was a good story.

I,m in! They say there is no loyalty in sport well Mr TRU BLU totally crushes that arguement! Australian Motorsport legend but more importantly, a Ford legend.
Have a look at my sig at the bottom of my post, he has been my sporting hero since I was 10 & I'll give you a tip, that wasn't yesterday!
If anyone can get something happening, I'll certainly chip in!

As said earlier, support by buying the book, or becoming a djr teammate, I know there's several members on here that have forked out the doleros for the big membership, but even the most basic helps out.
And it's win win, you help djr, which helps dick obviously, plus you get the rewards of being a member.

If anyone organises a charity run, I'm definitely in too.

Dick Johnson has always been the driver I watched growing up, and to see him like this, whether its through his own doings or not, is truly gut wrenching.

I'd honestly rather have seen him jump to Holden, and have him set up comfortably, then see the legend in a predicament like this.

But it's a mark of the man, that he's stayed so loyal.

Just an Idea!!!,
Why don't we hold a Ford Forum swap-meet in all states with all the proceeds going to the "Dicky Fund", wouldn't be good to have some Forum members meet in one spot and have a good old BBQ and sell the stuff lying around the garage (car parts/household stuff--anything), I know I would donate all my stuff (standard headers/sway bar/sub woofer/ICC/pillar trims/standard rotors ect.

Have a chat, show & shine our cars, eat some BBQ, and help out a Legend-warts n all.

if I can help I will, we have to look after our mates.

Seems the way of the world these days . Have a red hot go at being the best but if it all falls down around you plead ignorance and hope someone pulls you out of the poo. Down to earth and as aussie as they come Dick Johnson is no different to anyone else that has been in the right place and right time to take advantage of an opportunity and become wealthy doing it.
Ask the likes of Murray Carter and John Goss who had to compete against one A. Moffatt about it. I don't know but to me it seems he's having two bites of the cherry here . How many times does it take to realise your flogging a dead horse and to cut your losses .
