I read on the BOM before that Willis Island was expecting something at roughly 9am this morning and got nothing.

I can't really see anything happening here.

They've now said there is little threat. Its more of a tidal change worry now. The Ferries in Sydney Harbour have been pulled as the tideal changes may cause problems in docking.

it's ok, the big reef would have stopped a lot of it. probably would have trashed it so there was nothing left for future generations.........ok it's time to build a really big wall to save the reef from tsunami thingys so it's still there for the future generations to be banned from going to look at or god forbid.......fishing :

i think i got side tracked, never mind carry on :

As much of an overeaction as it was(Not saying thats a bad thing, it is good for the safety of people), did it **** anyone else off that there were people who were not leaving the beaches and ignoring the warnings?

It is these idiots that end up being the casualties in actual situations, and cost more lives of the people who attempt to save/rescue these idiots.

These things come quick and there's is no time to calculate how severe it might be. Better to just get the warning out and hope it was a waste time than try and figure out how bad it might be and hope you get it right :

All I know is if the beach gets sucked out=you're ****** :

I remember seeing some dude in the water when it happened in Indonesia (or wherever it was) and he doesn't even move. That would be the worst thing I reckon. Knowing you're about to get slammed and not being able to do anything about it. Next thing the wave breaks and he's gone!

Good to hear nothing happended here.

Hey Bucky were safe here in Canberra anyway ;)

I woke up this morning on a tropical island near where I live and turned the tv on to see this. I knew nothing would happen though.

I had my surf board and goggles at the ready, JUST in case something did happen, typical sensationalist journalism all morning on 3aw by Neil, loves to blow everything out of proportion.
