Back at the G for the first time in about 18 months. Pretty smooth process to get in but only 41,000 turned up.
Unfortunately the hapless hawks didn't get up. ![]() ![]()

Going to be another boring season, Mercedes 1,2 probably most of the time.

Fixed my neighbour’s smoke alarm.
Some tight-fisted person had given her a smoke alarm but not installed or arranged installation. So she left it face up on a kitchen shelf, out of the packet. After a while it had collected sufficient dust to false trigger regularly, it was then presented as a “Could I please help?” scenario this weekend. I opened the case carefully and blew it out with generous amounts of dry compressed air, focusing on the photoelectric sensor labrynth. Since reassembly it’s now worked exactly as designed for ten hours; just the periodic confirmation LED flash. I’ll mount it legally tomorrow and call it a job done. |

So this morning was attempt 1 of the intended use of the ute i bought my brother. And it was successful. Motorcycle in the back, strapped down. So its one of the smaller bikes my brother has, but the yamaha rd250lc fits easy, plenty of clearance. And the bonus was the previous owner left ratchet straps under the drivers seat. You cannot have too many ratchet straps. We also found the previous owners credit card. But, doing the right thing, he has been contacted to say if you havent already, cancel it.

I got a call today from my old manager. He is a personal mate of mine. But it was initially a business call. I do not with hold information as i have no aspirations, inspirations, exacerbations or any other big words to want to go back to working there. But, for a 2 day old question that 6 people were too spastic to work out, i answered it straight up, and i dont even work there. So the call back was the social call. My old manager, he is a good mate. So the inadvertent compliment was the place has gone to **** as no one wants to make decisions. I used to butt heads with middle management, hence why my manager/mate liked me. I do not like to be told how to do what i know how to do. I am the captain of my own ship. A good tradesman is just that. You have to make the decisions at times.
But, it was good to catch up with a mate. |

Every week I fill the rubbish bin from the abandoned site next door, with a mixture of rubble and weeds. Bin weight limit is 70kg.
This week, it made the most satisfying “thump/crash” as a bucket of dried slurry and 25kg of ceramic tile offcuts hit the insides of the bin truck. Sort of like a good solid car crash but without casualties. |

Clean bill of health from the GP, told to watch my cholesterol before it became a problem and keep exercising. Due back in 12 months. Relieved, not unhappy about the money spent on a bunch of pathology stuff.

Unless you have a strong family history of various conditions, tests for those issues (like an ECG) are charged extra. Basic pathology is covered under Medicare.

I went into a meeting today expecting a **** storm but left pleasantly surprised that it was nothing.
I had been doing training a lot of this week but then I finally had someone come to me with a real problem to debug due to our support packs which are either a nightmare or tame. I haven't had to debug SAP payroll functions for a long time and to say it can be a head **** is an understatement but was able to work it out within the hour which carried me through to knock off time ![]() |

Dunno why im nice to my brother. But i bought him plates for his car. He chose the plates,I bought the car, and the plates. But, he was adiment about 1 thing. So, old school white on black, just like my car. My plates are my grandpas. Well, got it done, white on black with the alphabetical and numerical combination correct. Its for an au falcon ute, its future name is the boomobile.

How good is Sydney’s weather today? It’s sunny, dry, a stiff breeze, not too warm. Basically, Launceston weather.
I reckon 18-footers would be making good progress on the harbour. ![]() |

And it definitely was a great dry, sunny day to be doing stuff. Laundry, tick. Ceiling patch undercoated, tick. Car washed - 3/4 tick.

PCV Connector, turns out every 30000km's is the actual service life of this part
![]() Once you delete the EGR and stop the oil entering the induction process you no longer have to worry about swirl flaps and intake manifolds being removed every 60K to eliminate white smoke issues and engine lights. Mercedes charge a fortune to do basic upkeep on these things and they are actually easier to work on than a B series ![]() ![]() ![]() |
