It doesn't make sense compared to the WZ Fiesta Sport with its 1L 3 cyl Ecoboost that makes nearly 30KW more power and only 30nm less torque (at an earlier 1400 RPM and maintaining to 4500 RPM) without the diesel issues.

Diesel hatches suck these days, they had this short period of being a good buy when the option was a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine or turbo diesel, but now there's turbo unleaded engines on offer, pass on the diesel engine.

The old VN.
Only ones I see is when deros are trying to offload their cut spring welded diff **** box on FB market place.
Back when Holdens were assembled in NZ, Holden did a type of sticker pack to get rid of remaining stock before the VP came out.
They came up with the unfortunate name GTS. 500 or so made.
This was before the proper HSV GTS which first came out in the VP.
The kiwi assembled one were V6 executives with colour matched bumpers, SS seats, alloys and fe2 suspension. Nothing special.
These days the bogans who have them think they’re sitting on a gold mine.

Tell that in 2040 to someone who might be considering dropping Ford's new 6.8L V8 into a 2006 BF XR8, getting rid of it's original 5.4

Today I saw an XF ute - yes, XF utes are still getting around - but this one was ex-Army and looked like it was still being used as an all-purpose daily run-around.

I recently saw a car & caravan with Vic plates get blocked at a roadside stop by locals, the altercation was not pleasant and if I was them wouldnt bother coming back to SA. Mind you living over here we hate the guts of Adelaidians.

Yeah, i havent seen one of those in ages. I think over the years ive seen more import toyota surfs then 4 runners (same thing). Although, a bloke i worked with showed me photos of his brothers 4 runner. It was one of the late 80s ones. It was lifted, custom canvas top, and had a lexus 4L v8 with a turbo . So it had the time and money thrown at it.

There's a 2 door 4Runner I see down the beach occasionally. It's in OK condition, but the only one I've seen in ages. BIL had a petrol 4 door version back in early 90's, swapped it to a petrol 80 series when the 4Runner ate more fuel than his 308 WB farm ute.

Saw a JZX110 Toyota Mark II this morning, JDM stuff is becoming ridiculously expensive.

You used to be able to get this **** for sub $10K landed and complied but anything JDM with a 1JZ/2JZGTE is 💸💸💸 now

The original 300c brought here in around 2005.
Used to see them once a week, now it’s more like once every month or so.
Based on my ownership experience I guess they’re all broken down now.

Might have something to do with the 25 year rule for importing JDM cars into the US?

JZX110 is around 5 years short of being imported into USA same with V300 Aristo but they've gone up about $5K-$8K ex Japan.

Same with JZS171 Crown, landed and complied $12,500 last year, this year high teens.

Not sure if it's covid price hikes? But JDM massively increased just in the past 12 months, especially the good ones 1JZ/2JZGTE

On a run up the shops i drove past a really nice looking xd, it was low and loud, the number plates referenced 351, and it was a v8, so probably a 351. Then 2 streets later i passed a bloke driving a 90s square extended tub 4 door f350 dually. That thing was lowered on rims, as wide as the lane it was driving in in the rear. It was rediculously long. God knows where you'd park it in todays world of ever shrinking parking spaces. It was as long as 2 cars.
