I always get "it got how many kays!" "F&^*"

With my old AU Xcab I was at the local fish and chip shop getting tea and 5 people got out of their AU and walked over to mine and spent 10 mins looking all over the car checking it out....

I got nice car alot and even a couple holden drivers giving me the thumbs up... Most people couldnt believe that was an Xcab either.... Showing them the speedo was priceless...

The BA I get the same reaction to the speedo, was in the exhaust shop this week getting the resi removed.....

Car is up on the hoist...
"Its an Egas"
Me: yep, its an Xcab
"wouldnt have picked that"
Me: got 500,000 on the clock
"F*&^"

Many years ago now I had a pretty rough Datsun 1200 which I bought for $300 to get me around..We had a Xmas at the boss' house and he asked me to drive it around the back because he reckoned it was devaluing his house.

I had my EB XR8 for a few months and got a knock on the door from a guy that wanted to buy it, I still have it, its part of the family now and has outlasted a misses or two
I had a car full of Girls pull up beside me in my Black AU XR8 ute with Billets and the usual slight mods and they said "That's a sexy car, haven't seen those wheels before what are they, sounds nice too" It's kind of hard to explain what billet Wheels are to a carload of 20 year old girls but you get that from time to time

In Ballarat there is sort of some gangish thing called the "westies" that usually come from Wendouree west, usually a very rough bunch, well these people were what you could relate to being westies. His passenger laughed at me and just kept glaring. So when the light turned green I planted my foot down as did he and his face when I tore off from the lights would've been hilarious. I went from 0-80 and by the time I hit 80 I was a car length and a bit in front of him, then stayed there as that was the speed limit. They (trying to regain some of their self esteem) just took off.
Made my day and I couldn't stop laughing :P

When I bought this the car yard had absolutely no clue how rare it was or anything about. I hope the salesman remembers this view when I drove out of the car yard. As I was about to drive off he said "If you ever want to trade this car you bring it back & see us" but before I even got to the road I thought to myself "this is the last time you will ever see this car" and had a good chuckle to myself thinking you have no idea!

crusing the brother's car you get alot of thumb's up, offer's to buy etc. but the best are when the girl's come up and say ''i'd love to go for a drive'' after the drive u get alot of comments that i might not be able to repeat here as they aren't family friendly

in mid 2009 I left my FG parked at a playground while the missus and I had a picnic nearby.. this was in remote country Victoria mind you.. a man in his 60's and his mate walked by it and (either not realising it was mine or being too obnoxious to care) commented, "look at this awful thing, this must be that new one that's just come out.. god they don't make em like they used to ay".

In my head I'm thinking 'dude, you're rockin a walking stick and pants up around your chest, plus the model is a good 12 months old and you think it's just come out.. your comment is somewhat invalid'..

Most positive comments have centered around the interior, which is standard XR6 getup.. the white/silver spots.. people seem to love it.. I'm not a fan myself, I orderded it thinking 'dark silver' meant grey.. not brilliant white

Dropped into the local pub and the middle aged barman that drives a V8 Statesman says 'When you took off in that ute of yours the other day gee it sounded bloody awesome'.

Funniest I got was 'nice car mister', in lake cargelligo.
I had just parked across from the bakery, and the local aboriginal kids said that.
My response 'you stay away from it'.

I have had a few 'nice car mate' comments occasionally.

umm ....I don't think that the girls were really interested in the wheels, but interested in you !
But maybe girls are different these days.
(I recall being incredibly dorky and being only able to talk with girls if cars were the subject of conversation - "Your Gemini / Laser would go better with extractors I reckon" - sigh. I'm amazed that I'm not still a virgin).

sitting at the lights in my FG F6, white SS ute pulls up looking like he wants to have a go.
he then yells out "please dont race me, cos i dont want to be embarrassed!".

But then another time in a similar situation, "nice stock XR6"

For the Valiant:

I get girls and men screaming 'HEY CHARGER' even though it isnt?
Police tell me to get a quieter exhaust
the best was at harrys one night when a kid asked 'mister, why do my eyes burn around your car?'

For the Fairlane

Old fella at heasmens told me 'some people might say the car is too low, but i say Its Fairlane Low'

and

'Its the burnout machine' haha

A few years ago whilst in the city on a Saturday night i got a memorable quote from a car load in a LJ Torana.
So im waiting to turn left into Hindley st from west tce when the above mentioned group pulls up on my right, wacks his left indicator on and looks at me obviously hoping to cut in and turn ahead of me.
No probs i thought, so i motioned him to proceed when the passenger leans out the window, thumbs up and thanks me as a fellow Holden driver...lmao

Not bad considering i was driving an EF.

To top it off the cars plate was XU1-V8, which i thought contradictory as XU1 is the designation given to the Toranas race spec 6 cylinder.

I was on the way to a cruise, going down the Port River express way in the wifes AU and got the "Buy a Holden" by a group of bogans with 2 of the passengers hanging their feet out the window... I gunned it momentarily as it does have a rather loud exhaust and they took that as a challenge as they sped away...... about a minute later a police car sped past me ...... I dont think I have ever laughed so hard in my life as I drove past them pulled over on the side of the road with the Police behind them.......
