425kw for 78k rrp isn't a bang (prodrive engine dyno figures presented at FPV tribute night...for the fans)

Only difference is, ford under promise and over deliver, unlike their competitor who does the complete opposite.

As a gtf owner I'm stoked with what I got. Be happy for us, rather than try and tear us down.

I think I've now personally met about 25 gtf owners in WA and Vic , and every last one has been a ford tragic intending on keeping the car for life.

I'm sure there are a few speculators, but they would be the minority

I don't know any gtf owner saying "gee we shouldve waited for XR8". It is all good, those lucky enough to own the F know what I mean, those who understand the GT know what I mean.

Xr8 specs were not a huge surprise to anyone were they? There were plenty of rumours. I still believe they are different people looking for different things in a car. If someone was looking to get a gtf the XR8 would have to be significantly cheaper to sway them and even then if they were after a gt the xr doesn't provide that.

I find it strange with the constant XR8 vs GTF and that people will be disappointed, did anyone question that the SRT-8 owners who paid close to $70k for their cars now have a SRT-8 Core version that can be bought for under $50k drive away? Nor with the upcoming SS with the 6.2 Litre donk going into it for around $41k (based on current SS prices) when many Clubsport owners dished out $65k plus for their cars...

Not sure they will get that low...for good original low km cars.

but agree for high km roughies with questionable history that have been f....d with by adding superchargerss, ruined the interior, added aftermarket wheels exhaust, crashed, replaced engines, BF upgrades on BAs, altexzzas, smoked lights, shakers, etc etc....

Good original cars with hold value and probably start to go up soon...

Not a GT, but, show me a good low km, original untouched manual BA Typhoon. In 5 years such a car will be almost non existent and my guess they will command a premium price.

The 5.4 is a great motor, with the right tweeks they go pretty good. All these coyotes and aftermarket blown motors after a few yrs will be a nightmare and expensive to repair.Going by Tex experience i rather stay n/a lol

You can't generalize like that and think all 5.4 motors when supercharged will have problems - that's just silly. Sure Tex is having problems with his car, but how many other blown 5.4 are going around with no problems? There's quite a few that I know of.

Took a drive to Sinclair Ford this morning to look at the FGX's.

They had a fair allocation of GT-F's but a couple of deals fell through.

They say they have 1 left, Black with Silver stripes, manual, ........ $120K. They say they won't budge on that as it is the last they have and it's a manual.

For the time being it's still sitting there.

^^^ I made some comments in the Last Ever Falcon thread, post 11186.

There was no XR8 but G6E Turbo they had very classy looking.

Smoke is a great colour, there was an XR6 in this colour.

They definitely look better in the metal. I for one like the rear end treatment but would find the grille on the XR's hard to keep clean.

I know it's still early days , and with time , I am sure I will come around . I saw the FGX on display , saw one of the campers with one , and then saw the car on display driven on the track at Bathurst . I was n't moved . However , I wasn't particularly fond of the colour scheme of the car they used at Bathurst . At Phillip Island they had the FG GT go around , and not sure why , but I was easily attracted to the FG rather than the FGX .(maybe the from crossed up coming out of Lukey Heights has something to do with it?)
The write up tells you the FGX is excellent buying , but reading and seeing the pic's is one thing, real life connection is another .
The camper at Bathurst , loved it ... I am yet to be convinced that I like the
front grill , and it's - what appears to be a taller stance .( don't know why, it appears to sit taller , haven't they stated , it's sitting on the same GT suspension set up?)

Yeah it seems I'm not too sure on the FGX either yet, from the pictures I've seen it doesn't impress me but I've yet to see one in person. With the BA/BF being my favourite shape from ford I felt the same way when the FG was first released, I just couldn't stand the look of it but eventually it grew on me - hopefully the same thing happens with the FGX because they are a great bit of gear, an RSpec in disguise.

Can't say I'm that impressed with the XR8 and I certainly wouldn't sell my F for one. They are good value for money but they simply ain't a GT.

All wrong mate

EB GT = XR GT......pretty sedate windsor
EL GT = XT GT..... arguable better, has a bit of a cult following with enthusiasts
BA GT = XW GT...the come back kid, new donk, popular, sold like hotcakes
BF GT = XY GT...some say the toughest looking of them all.
FG GT = XA GT...new shape, the jury out for many GT enthusiasts
S/C FG = XA GT RPO 083...we love it, it's not as tough looking as a XY or BF but but means business.
XR8 = XB GT....yeah the XR 8 is not a GT but some say a 76 auto XB is not really a GT either, going out with a fizz.

I was describing the XT...it had 5 HP over the XR HP

But I thought EL has some John Bowe tickling...but Ford just quoted 200kw...

The XR8 is impressive for what it offers at the price and is the last of Falcon line but yep, you wouldn't want to sell to sell your F to get one.

Prolly be about right the last xr8 will be the most refined and best falcon to be released. The xb gt was easily the best GT made ,refined handled and rode the best comparing it to the box type cars.

The ONLY equal to the Phase 3 is the 2012 R-Spec.

The last true FPV!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything after that is just a standard ford sticker job. Add a few interior changes, update the software to what ever the US will give them and BAG, add 60k.

There's not a Dyno in the world that could split the difference between the 335 and the 351.

Its all smoke and mirrors. Even the Nm are the same.
