my count was reset at start of month this is new test. speeds a little better latency is still crap but this is to be expected it's satellite so oh well.

i wanted to do an independent test so downloaded a file and took note of the download rate on the browser, settled on about 70kb/sec average - x8 = 560kbps which is pretty close to the speedtest website give or take, but worth noting for those that don't know/aren't sure (or confused by the kb/s readout that is really kbps) the speedtest website measures is kilobits per second (kbps)... if you want to get REAL kilobytes(kb/s) per second divide speed by 8

Internode 80GB limit ADSL1. They don't have ADSL2 in my area (last time I checked).

What would you need speeds that fast for anyway? I can download a movie in around 20 minutes. It reminds me of when Moe gets that deep fryer that cooks a buffalo in 40 seconds, 'but I want it noooow'.

I have 8000/320 connection. Fastest I can get 400km from Perth. With IInet which is awesome as there are a lot of things now (Xbox live, Itunes) that don't count towards download quota.

Yeah, i have a rather 'safe & stable' setting on my router, when you're only 800m from the exchange you can sacrifice a little bit of performance for stability - ie my router has been up and connected for 38 days.....

I've ordered a new Netgear WNR3500 802.11n RangeMax Wireless-N Gigabit Router just waiting for it to get here and then I can grab some faster speeds.

adsl 2+ unfortunately my line has issues so we have to use conservative settings for stability

Internode do offer ADSL2 in a lot more exchanges nowdays (Most places where ADSL1 is available now), but unless your hitting 8mbit now you won't see any improvement anyway.

You'll find that that router doesnt have an ADSL modem in built though.

I'm upgrading from Internode 1500 to ADSL plus 20 Megabit next week.
I will update the test when it comes online.
