Yep I got excited about it for nothing, but still considering a SS, my local small dealer have had average weekly sales double, but in their case no one had taken up the finance deal.

Edit: also got told they are bringing out a SS-Z and SSV-Z special editions, whether that means they are having trouble moving the SS at the moment, I don't know.

They would be having trouble moving anything Commodore at the moment, it is sinking nearly as fast as Falcon. Down 30% compared to last year?

Its no suprise Holden are saying the deal has worked well, most Holden buyers are brain dead sheep probably too dumb to work out the deal is a rip off.

The 0.5% financing probably works better on Cruze and lower priced cars, I suspect that's where most of the finance was.
I doubt that Holden saw much trade at all on Commodores with that 0.5 financing, buyers usually insist on discounts.

are we really that naive to believe that monies can be borrowed for .05 percent in Austalia! You are paying for it some way shape or form. Gerry Harvey started this years ago and it still works. Ahh well best get the broom out again. (that's to sweep the feathers off the floor when the woodducks leavel.)

You can see it working much the same way that other "interest free" consumer lending works, the debt is
sold to the finance company for the discount price, then the finance company collects the difference in profit.
The chump only realises that he has been done over when trying to resell the vehicle years later.

The residual loss to the buyer with a $16,990 drive away car is far less than with a $47,000 car.

Would that "underlying burden" be similar to 15 or 17% interest?

Well maybe the bright sparks that bought an SV6 commodore over the last week for full RRP, will today be looking at the Holden website and see that the same car is now back $34990 driveaway.

Interesting to note also that the Cruze CD is now being offered for $20990 drive away. $1000 less than when the low interest offer started. How low can they go!!!!!

Holdens on the look out for some more gullible people. The 0.5% offer is back on for MY12 SV6's. But oddly enough, they have removed the $34990 SV6 sale price from the website.
