Yeah a Snappy and easily reproduced design for badges, merchandise, letterheads, all that stuff.
Its a less is more exercise in style.

I know I agonised trying to get my business one half right, but I dont have the artistic flair these guys do. _

Yeah, a few things...

1. It looks a little too big.
2. I think it would look better if it blended in with the page a little better. Perhaps a BG colour change?
3. Set the Margin of the page to 0px so that there isnt a white border on it..

Just my opinion.

it only looks chunky at the moment because it's resizing the banner to whatever screen width you're running. webrowsers never stretch or resize images nicely

basically the way i have found is best.. is to create a 1cell table, which is set to 100% screen width... so it adjusts itself.

then inside the cell you add the banner and set it to left alignment.

then in the background of the cell you add a background image to suit the banner, for mine it's like this:

therefor cuz you have the gradient as the background, no matter how far the cell (the page) is stretched there is always the colour running along the top

i would advise a similar thing be done for the winning banner ;)

Well done FF7 on the win, congrat's.

Now that it is up, I have to say it doesn't look right. As someone said before, looks too "thick", too much blue and doesn't "blend" with the background. Have a look at post #31 on this thread, in particular the #3 banner works well with the background. Not criticising, just an observation now that it's up.. not a whinge either.

In the end though, it's been voted on and has been chosen, so ignore this post.

Erm I didn't follow this but why weren't they just size matched and then randomly rotated? They are all so similar anyway. Also take off the banner stretching it looks awful on my 1600x1200...

they werent rotated like that because a logo had to be chosen for merchandise etc.

Bugga, just found this thread after i noticed the banner. Shame because although the banner looks nice i am not a fan of two AU's. I would have personally preferred the BA, 1 AU, and perhaps something from the E or X era (ELGT, ED sprint, or XY GT).

Anyway, doesnt matter. Looks good.

good work all.

Well I'm running 1024X768 and it looks all "Fuzzy". I think your idea of stretching would work well, but only on that banner of yours (which in my opinion is the pick of the bunch BTW), 'cause the winning banner has lightning strikes that are choped off on the far right edge.

Anyway, bad luck seano14, top banner.

it could be done, the banner would just have to be made a bit longer and fade the lightning out

I like the new banner. It deserved to win, i just would have liked to see an older car on there too.. maybe replace the duplicate AU
